Waited too long....the Marlin hitters figured Verlander out after seeing him twice.

You have to assume the Detroit pitching staff is going to allow 4-5 runs a game. So the offense better put up a few more runs

That catch may have saved the game. This pen looks familiar.

K-Rod pitched very little this spring. Maybe there is a reason?

Someone tell me the truth.....the REAL game was rained out and they just grabbed a tape of one of last years games and showed that instead.

How bout that homer from Gose, uh?

Impressive.

Running grab from notKate Upton, also impressive.

Victor the pinch hitter also impressive.

(JV laughing while batting, not impressive. Neither is the pitching, but that's expected.)

The Tigers will get their first ever look at Jose Fernandez, who burst onto the major league scene in 2013 with a 12-6 record and 2.19 ERA in 28 starts and won the National League Rookie of the Year Award. He ended 2014 on the disabled list with a torn UCL in his elbow and started 2015 on the DL to recover from Tommy John surgery.

Sanchez makes his first start of the season after dealing with right elbow inflammation for most of the spring. He only made two official spring training starts, going 1-0 and giving run four runs on seven hits in 8 2/3 innings, but tossed in minor-league camp games as well.

Game 1 kinda showed "they are who we thought they were". The hitting had to carry some bad pitching -- especially the bullpen. JV looked good except for one bad inning. The HR that Stanton hit was on a pitch below the knees, so credit the hitter on that one.

Fernandez is making Tiger hitters look real bad. Nine Ks after 4 innings
