Saw two early predictions for the AL Central based on metrics. Fangraphs, using simple run differential totals, came up with an 82-80 record for Detroit - placing them second behind the Indians by 2 games. Using this model, only two MLB teams had more than 90 wins - Cubs and Red Sox. The other model had Detroit also in second, but this time behind KC. Using different metrics (???) they gave Detroit an 84-78 record, 6 games behind KC. This metric showed extreme parity in the AL, with the Royals 90 wins the tops and the A' 90 loses the worst.
An interesting note...if you totaled all the wins in the AL Central, in the Fangraph's model....it would exactly equal the weight of Bruce Rondon!
