Kind of had a hunch the string of well pitched games was about to come to an end.

I guess no one ever said KRod was a lights out closer. (The gun must be fast in Chicago - his fastball was hitting 90 last inning.)

Tough one to lose. Up 7-0 and pitching collapses.

Something positive. AL Parity is alive and well. Don't count top ranked Texas...and the next 11 clubs are all within 5 games of each other. Tigers, at one game over .500, are still in the playoff picture!

F-Rod sucked, but when your offense scores 9, it really shouldn't come down to your closer.

The Tigers have already lost too many games this season when they score 5+ runs. The pitching has had some bright spots, but as a unit, it's still one of the worst staffs in the majors.

It's a long season, but this was one of those game you have to win. The Tigers did not get beat that game, they lost it. You gonna get beat (just a fact), but you have to steal more victories than you give away.

Arnie Inlaw, Tiger's assistant to the assistant road manager, announced that due to increased traffic between Detroit and Toledo, the ballclub has rented a small yellow school bus that will carry players (mostly pitchers) back and forth between the two cities. The club feels this will be more cost efficient in the long run, especially with uberfan, dougplayer, doing the driving for free. (He has HEART!)

The bus will immediately get its first use as Bobby Parnell was sent to Toledo and Buck Farmer returns (I believe for the 5th or 6th time?).

Upcoming schedule:

1. Matt Boyd down - D. Norris up
2. A. Wilson down - Logan Kensing up
3. M. Lowe down - VerHagen up

Dates to be announced

JaCoby Jones is hitting well in Toledo, but he just got back from a suspension...so he will need more time. Other than that, pickens' are slim in Toledo. Two old hands Casey McGeHee and Chad Huffman are hitting over .300...but that guarantees nothing. Tyler "Finger" Collins stinks, one time shiny star Wynton Bernard has fallen, and Gose is batting under .200. Moya will be called up only if VMart or an OF go on the DL. Might be best to wait until some team is forced to deal some un-needed player that might be able to hit at the major league level.
