GREAT decision by Ausmus to pinch hit with Cabrera.
He's a fucking genius.

Not many managers would think to have a triple crown winner available to hit for the pitcher.

I say we let him write the lineup card again tomorrow.

And did you see the way Ausmus firmly and calmly called in his closer, in the 9th, with a one run lead? Shades of Sparky Anderson and Mayo Smith.

He really stepped his game up tonight.

The Gose to Romine to McCann relay to get Ramos at the plate was clearly Ausmus' in game coaching at work.

Walking a guy without a hit in the series, to pitch to the guy with two homers TONIGHT, was tremendous. Since it worked out. Had Zimmerman blooped one into right over Kinslers glove things would be different of course.

So we have more points in the end. Does that mean we win?

Batting order questions. Going back to AL ball on Thursday, can Detroit keep running out this at the bottom of the order?

7. McCann C (.112)
8. Gose CF (.216)
9. Iglesias SS (.242)

Even putting Salty (.211) in at C does not help much. Power up, average not so much, and more Ks. And less defense. The bench also supplies Romine and Avila who are sub .200 hitters. (Romine is sub .100)
If you keep Castellanos as your #6 hitter, his high average is partly wasted as there is nothing behind him.

Only suggestion (and I don't like it myself) is to move Iglesias to #2 and slide JD Martinez into the bottom of the order. Now...I don't really feel like dealing with where Upton should bat. But my serious suggestion is - make him the #9 hitter, hoping he gets pissed off, demands a trade, and eats his contract to get out of Detroit. At this point, I'd take a one armed Cameron Maybin in LF over Upton. Hell, I'd take Melvin Upton over Justin Upton in LF. And, of course, I'd prefer to see Kate Upton running around in LF than any of the above.

Yeah those guys kind of suck but McCann was hurt and coming back Goes just sucks and we're waiting for Mabin to get better and Iggy will hit better. That part of the order will get better it can't get any worse.

J-Up....Ks on 3 pitches. This guy is saying the same thing Tyler Collins did to Tiger fans...except without the finger.

It's not often you see a pitcher with 15 strikeouts and only 92 pitches. Welcome to the impatient Tiger lineup.

I think Maybin once he's 100% should get full reps at CF for the rest of the year. He cannot be any worse than Gose at this point. McCann should have been PH btw.

Max is dealin', but that last pitch to Kinsler was not a strike. Guess you get those calls when you are around the strike zone all day.

Scherzer has a chance at the K record in the ninth.

JD, Miggy and VMart stand in his way. (That called third on Kinsler was a lousy call, but whatever Max deserves to get calls tonight.)
