None of the starters in Toledo are pitching lights out and pushing hard to replace Pelfrey. Thad Weber, a well traveled AAA pitcher is probably their best starter, so far. I suppose because of that, Pelfrey will keep getting starts for awhile longer, or at least until Greene is healthy. Outside of Zimmermann and Verlander....the rotation appears to be a in a state of flux. Sanchez gets starts more from his reputation (and run support) than his skill. Then you can start lining them up and picking two of the following: Fulmer, Pelfrey, Greene, Farmer, Boyd, Norris, and even Thad Weber. Check the waiver wires Avila.

A sweep on the road is always nice even if it is against the bottom dweller Twins....I don't see us sweeping on the road to much this year.

Today was a perfect example of why he's NOT the "innings-eater" we want for a 5th starter. His pitch count is usually 100 or more before he gets through the 5th. A product of that sky-high WHIP.

Hard to see either Norris or Boyd being worse than Pelfrey.

McCann is set to rejoin the Tigers on Tuesday for the series opener in Cleveland.

Verlander and Sanchez will pitch the first two games of the series. Ausmus has Thursday's starter listed as TBD. He isn't sure if he will give Fulmer a second start. The Monday off day means Zimmermann could pitch Thursday on his normal four days' rest.
