It is also encouraging to see V-Mart bring a sub .200 average to now over .240 with a little power too. Now that he is playing closer to the V-Mart we know, I only see our AL Central lead continue to grow. This week the Tigers need to let the Royals know it is the Tigers division and not let KC get any false hope.

Free Press has an interesting article about the possibility of 4 Tiger starters making the All-Star team. Hasn't been done since the '42 Reds. Sanchez is 6-5 with a 2.65 ERA. Scherzer is 8-0 with a 3.24 ERA. Fister is 5-3 with a 3.27 ERA. And Verlander is 8-4 with a 3.71 ERA, so not out of the possibility. ....and Leyland is the one who gets to fill the final pitching roster spots.

Yep. When Cleveland was on that 18-4 run, I wrote that it's a team that can just as easily go on a 4-18 run, and probably would. I didn't expect it to happen so soon after, though.

I expected the swoon.
they played
2 in detroit
4 in boston
2 in cincy
2 home Cincy
3 home rays
3 at NY
3 at detroit
They went 4-15. Most of those teams have good SP. Tribe good offense, lack of SP doomed them in this stretch. Can't expect to outslug good teams. After 3 in texas the schedule and 3 at home against the nats they benefeit from a friendlier schedule. they could be 6 or 7 below 500 at that time however. They are in the AL fifth in runs and eleventh in runs against. That is all you need to know.

Even with Raburns Homeruns the Tribe continue to lose. Seemed that way here in Detroit for the past few years. Apparently the turd doesn't add up to wins in the column.

I was actually rooting for him to get a Grand Slam off Papa and still lose by 8 runs. It would have just felt right.

RR sporting a very nice 930 ops. has only 2 errors this season. can't fault RR for the fact that there isn't any SP or the fact their closer is a pot head. maybe the manager in Cleveland just knows how to use him more effectively.

No idea adrian. Does RR play 2nd base for the Tribe? Does he play every game? Is the Field smaller in Cleveland so he doesn't have to run as far? No idea about these questions, but he sucked in Detroit and I don't give a flip if he hits 400 with 40 hrs. I don't want that Garbage back in the D.

Leyland might try and convert that junk into a pitching coach if let back in the state of Michigan.

I'll trade Francona for Leyland Today. Just let them pass each other in the sky and wave.

Leyland is a bum and so is Raburn........Francona could get hired tomorrow and he wouldn't blink twice at trying to bring Raburn to Detroit with him.

actually RR only 2 games at 2B around 30 in the OF. RR is a part time OF that JL tried to convert into a full time 2B. Who knows what happened. OPS over 800 in 09 and 10. Then the bottom fell out. Strange how many wish brennan Boesch well yet curse the ground raburn walks on and both had about the same #'s in detroit.

Don't you be taking pot shots at my boy Brennan Adrian. Maybe if JL let Boesch play 2B we wouldn't have had a need for Omar.

Out of curiosity How man Errors did each player have? Regardless of position they played.

Maybe Boesch had more. But Raburn made it an art form.......Like a ballernina trying to coax a ape out of a banana while on a tight rope singing the National Anthem.

I can't help it. This image is engrained in my head. It was one hell of a effort, but when he looked at all the possible places the ball could be he checked his glove. That just has "clueless" written all over it.

Muzz...Boesch was a BIGGER failure, in my opinion, than RR. Raburn was seen as a platoon, part-time player when he got to Detroit. Granted he was not used correctly by Leyland, who tried to use him as a regular the last two years. (largely due to the lack of better options he had available.) However, Boesch was looked at as a top prospect - the corner outfielder of the future...or the full-time DH at least. I recall a poster wanting Magglio Ordonez released, traded, or benched because BB was the 'future' in RF. Now that poster has resorted to jokes to hide his and BB's failure to live up to expectations.

Now 'that poster' is trying to sweep Boesch's failures under the rug with repeated Raburn jokes. Very sad.

:laugh3: Soooooooooooooooooo :lame:

Raburn playing in the big leagues....Boesch carrying his own bags in the Yankees' farm system. Raburn had two homers, against major league pitching, over the weekend. Boesch? The AAA bus stopped at Dennys and he had the special.

AHH Yes iffy back to grant me with his wisdom. I'll ask you since you respond to my every post.

Seriously, I don't know the answer to this question. Who had the most errors while playing for Detroit? Regardless of position they played.

It's just embedded in my head that Raburn couldn't do anything right while Boesch messed up often I find it hard to believe Raburn did anything special.

Maybe I'm wrong and Inge is the next Messiah......

Your really going to hate that I have Wade Miley , Putz and Bell on my fantasy team. They all kinda suck, some more then others, but I had no choice when I was left with leftovers to complete my roster.
