everyone should hit ahead of Avila....JV had the best April in career.....May not starting out so well.....don't need to worry yet.....seems to be trying to do too much and seems to be hurrying......

Last year Avila switched to a heavier bat and he seems to not be able to swing the bat as fast. He looks like he is trying to pull but he's really swinging slow.

Friday was a 'gift' win for Detroit. If you told me before the game that the offense was going to get only 2 runs for their #5 starter AND that the Tigers would use FOUR relief pitchers.....I would have bet the farm (and a pair of pissed on shoes) that the Tigers would be losers in that game.

I thought it was great work from the pitching staff as a whole, solid defense, and a seldom seen solid use of the bullpen by Old Jimmy. Luck was that rocket off Cabreras bat caroming directly to Andrus from Beltres body.

You are right Smitty....It was a very well played game by the Tigers....good teams win games like fridays......Porcello has been solid except for one inning.....I guess real Tiger fans see the team differently.....

I should have figured "Old Short Hairs" would comment (indirectly, of course) on any post I make. I knew when I posted my last post that burf would respond....because there was enough negativity to peek his interest. A slight tug on those short hairs is like Pavlov's dog....automatic reaction.

BTW burf....it appears your big pal 'cleaves' has the easy lead in the Negativity League! Take a look at his last couple of posts. Verlander struggles - and cleaves proclaims him mediocre. Valverde blows one save and he is a fat potato failure who needs to be tossed immediately. lol

Both starts have been in RF....they need to get BB some work at 1B to make him a little more valuable.

rod allen gets worser by the day. talking about jackson and how his rehab is going, wishing him well " wherever he is watching the game on Tv". when in fact he is in the dugout. Well mr 27 AB's for the 84 team it was in all the local papers 2 days ago that AJ would be traveling with the team to Texas and then to Cleveland. It is really bad when a guy whose job it is to know these things doesn't know these things.
