@Cleaves 2 million,
You are correct, Detroit leaves too many LOB and fails at RISP. This has been the MO for the last 7 years. (Gosh, that's how long Capt. Mumbles has been here) I think some of these bombers need to bunt (if they know how) and give up on the long ball. Hell, in most cases just a fly play gets a run.

Let's give them some credit. While they could do better at producing runs...they do lead the MLB in runs scored. They also lead MLB in OBP.....they do get more ''chances'' to fail to get runs in.

:clap:

Iffy, I'm now on my 4th beer, Red Wings in 2 hours, so ....u are sorta right. Detroit does lead the majors with an average of 5.43 runs per game. BUT, are last with 8.08 LOB per game. Heck, they are now 27th with 3.81 RISP per game. So, half right, and because of the Wings game, no detention tonight.

LETS GO WINGS!!!!!!!

Living in chicago, i need the wings to play the series of their lives. They already stole their "hawkey town" from our "hockeytown".

So just because we get runners on, its no big deal that they cant just hit a fly ball when needed? Your whole lineup could be a bunch of 300 hitters, but without timely hitting its all for nothing. How many times have we seen the tigers get around 12 hits and the other team has like 6 but we still lose. Seems like alot the last few years.

Dam one bad inning for max today. Sucked i already had counted that win today once we were up 4-1. Im trying not to get too frustrated since the tigers usually start out worse than they have this year. Plus we dont have raturd holding us back anymore.

I hear many times people say that the reason the Tigers will win the central is by default, because it's the central. At this time the central is more than holding their own at a combined +8 games over .500. Take away the Tigers record and the division is still over .500. I'm not getting them confused with the AL East, but they sure aren't the AL West either.

I see the Tigers sent Al Al down to AAA. I can think of a few other players I would like to send down before him (send down or elsewhere - I'm talking to you Mr. Coke).

It's also May 16. We've seen this kind of start from Cleveland for two straight years. By season's end, the ALC will have the Tigers and maybe one other team over .500.

Lets see if our "ace" Verlander can get through the first 3 innings in under 60 pitches tonight against the Texas Rangers. Last game he didn't have his fastball and I'm wondering if that ole right arm just might be pooping out on him. We shall see.

:lol: AL has nasty stuff but it does us no good if he can't get the nasty pitches over for strikes and they hammer the secondary pitches
