Anyone STILL not convinced about Max yet ... smitty?

He has only been probably the 2nd best pitcher in baseball since May 2012 (to Kershaw).

I was glad to see him win a 1-0 game in his last start of regular season and to clinch the pennant. There was a poetic justice in that.

You know what HD? I actually came on here to say Max won me over last night with his post game celebrating. Those goggles cracked me up. And so did he! Great scene after the game. Max, Torii, Leyland, Victor, Cabrera... Everybody..... All having a blast. I'm not going to get into his overall status as a starter on this board. But I will say he wrapped up the Cy Young, IMO, last night. Getting that ERA below 3.00 was key. So was winning the game, but finishing off the central was absolutely great.

Scherzer's ranks:

* 1st in wins (21) and win PCT
* 1st among starters in WHIP (0.97)
* 5th among starters in ERA (2.90)
* 2nd in strikeouts (240)

I'm sure some will argue against Max because of the hitting support he received, but based on the above, there's no way anyone can say he "backed into" 21 wins. IMO, the Cy Young vote shouldn't even be close. Max, hands-down.

Anybody else get the feeling that 2E and Coke aren't going to make the roster. With JP expected to play some in LF, it has to be 2E that is gone. He has been brutal in the 2nd half. With Porcello in the pen, I think that makes Coke expendable for an additional position player, possibly Perez because of his speed.

Check this fucked up shit out.....i posted on a baseball daily thread today.....said nothing wrong....something about sad the yanks got eliminated since the tigs do good against them.....then captobvious went in as moderator and changed MY WORDS around........told me i was trolling because i was a tiger fan.....so i guess all tiger fans in here have to stay in the tigers room or on the AL Smack talk thread because of vice.....

So i wouldnt post on a "baseball thread" outside of here or you might be called a troll and have your own wording changed without a clue of what YOU ACTUALLY POSTED. Luckily a royal fan seen it all go down and stuck up for me.....once he changes your post, you cant prove if it was offensive or not.

Most important factor, to me, are his innings. Sanchez and Colon won't be factors due to theirs. Max has more than Darvish. More than Sale. Only Dickey and Shields(and Iwakuma, my mistake) have compiled more this season and they won't be factoring much in the CYA anyways. Max should win for sure after last night, IMO.

In the AL Cy Young there are Max, Sale, Darvish, Iwakuma, Sanchez, Colon, Shields, and a handful of others guys that deserve credit. But when it comes to lousy, cry baby, taddling, whineasses, Capt is in a League of her own. I'll never post in his Daily thread for the simple reason it's his. (Plus I never posted in it on CBS)

That's good. I really liked Hammer a lot until Capt got in his ear. Then I just tried to avoid him after Capt tried to get you booted. Figured I'd be next. Glad Hammer sees the light. (I loves Schwartz too, which is nice). Anyways.... How bout Jimmy's MoonWalk!?! I loved it! Great guy that Jim Leyland. Still drives me nuts though. Hahaha. But seriously one helluva guy.

the issue that holds the AL West pitchers back is the Astros factor.

darvish 3-1 and 50 K's in 5 games

iwakuma 2-1 1.38 ERA and 33K in 4 games

Astros on their way to 110 losses are possibly the worst team since that Tigers team of O believe 2003.

First and foremost, congratulations to the Tigers on clinching the AL Central for a third year in a row.. I don't the franchise has ever done that, and I want to commend this bunch for accomplishing that feat.. With that said, I think it would be in their best interest to try and beat out Oakland for home field of the first round.. Oakland is on a bit of a slide and I really think Detroit could take advantage of that in the series against Miami. A team that has mailed it in for next year..

Even if the Tigers sweep the Marlins, Oakland would have to lose 2 of their last 3, because the A's hold the tie-breaker.

This team took alot of slack this year....people thought they should coast to 100 wins or sumthin.....the expectations were high....i understand......but look at washington, la angels, SF and toronto.....their expectations were high also......just goes to show, you still gotta play the game.
