I thought avila had to sit out since the concussion rules.

Garcia never seemed as fast as they are making him out to be. Maybe because he had baggy pants?

I think the tigers do a great job of selling their prospects to other teams scouts cleaves... look at how they had people drooling over cameron maybin and andrew miller... they had seattle creaming over furbush and that martinez kid that is back in the tigers farm now... they have all of america nutting over castellanos... and then what do they do? trade them for mlb talent... how many of the guys that DD traded have came back to burn him? MAYBE Jacob Turner... and you know what.. the tigers owed the marlins for fleecing them for miggy.

Don't be surprised if DD uses Iglesias in a trade this offseason to get a proven SS.. Nothing that guys does surprises me... He is a magician.

Maybin could be a very solid player if he could stay healthy. Just wasn't MLB ready at the time. And I'd glad take Miller or Furbush back, for newer shinier prospects:). DD does a real nice job in dealing kids quickly, that's for sure. (Casey Crosby being a different story)

Casey Crosby could still end up as a decent reliever.. tigers tried hard to make him a starter.. but he just doesnt have it in him.. I think he could be every bit as good as furbush in a relief role.. crosby has nasty stuff.. i watched him in training camp a few years now.. in a one inning relief role... he could surprise. I bet next year he will be in that role. Tigers have drafted a ton of starting pitching prospects in the last few drafts.. and a couple are moving up the ladder.. no reason to keep crosby a starter.. he is 24.. if it was going to work.. it would have by now.

I agree.. would love to have Furbush back.. but you can keep miller or maybin.. miller is an injury waiting to happen as is maybin... Maybe DD will trade Max to the Mariners for that Tuijuan walker kid, Furbush, and Nick Franklin.. that would be awesome.. and not that far off as seeing as that was the deal pretty much the mariners were going to do for justin upton. Heck.. throw in castellanos if they are willing to do that trade...

why is it that casper wells keeps finding a place to play in the mlb? seriously? what does that kid have that so many teams pick him up.. just to sit him on their bench?
casper wells is caught in the situation so many guys are in. Out of options and teams trying to get him and realize he is good defensive guy, but not much on the offensive side. I really think the players in the next CBA have to insist on teams that claim players on waivers be required to keep them for 30 days minimum. What has happened to casper being bounced on wavers like a ping pong ball is just awful.

I am sure Brennan Boesch wishes he was casper wells getting claimed off waivers

BB still has options. Yet nobody wants him, even at the minors. That is very telling.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it Cleaves. The dude is a jerk who is only here to try to ruffle feathers and just generally be a dick.

He doesn't want to talk baseball, he wants the attention that comes with making inflammatory comments and getting under people's skin.

The website doesn't want people like him chasing off regulars like you, so everyone is better off without him...

I'm big on Nick Franklin too. And Furbush has been very solid. I don't want to seem anti-Max anymore than I already have in the past. But..... That trade or a trade of that nature, would be huge for us long term.

Have to agree, Max is having a career high year, doubt very seriously he can duplicate it. I like Maxie Poo just fine, but he returns us 3 quality young studs, timing is right to make a splash with Maxie Poo......DD holds the cards on this one. I'm also just as happy keeping him with a Detroit Discount.

After Anni Sanni got his money, JV got his money, Dougies continued to impress, Ricky is turning the corner, Smyly looks like a very solid young lefty, it's just going to be so expensive to keep Max in a Tigs uni. He's been great for over a year straight now. Absolutely great! But, unless he'd do a shorter deal (3years) or a huge discount (14.5-16mill) I just don't see him being around. But I didn't see Prince being around, Or Max and AJax being here in the first place. So.... Idk, Big Brennan swing is just too damn pretty to go away so easily. Too pretty!

Agreed, I think a lot will depend if we win it all this year. If we fall short again, I think Ilitch gives it one more go. If we win it all, I can see letting Max go for the youth movement.

This team has improved, to me, so much since the trade deadline. And not just based off the awesome win streak. I absolutely LOVE the added bullpen help with Veras (im glad Bondo is here also)and the quick, sure handed, defensive young possibilities with Iggy. With the base they have to work with, I can only imagine how good DD, Mr.I and company can make this club. With or without Max.

Again I must agree, Maybe Ansah can Play some D for us well.
