I love the girl that says the indians have a 70 percent chance to pass the tigers.. haahhahahaahahah

She'd better have big tits, because she is definitely lacking a brain. If the Indians had three more series remaining with the Tigers, I'd put their chances as high as 25-30 percent. But with only one 3-game series left between the two, the Tribe has to count on help from some other teams. I'd say the 15 percent figure is at least sane.

Meanwhile ... Verlander with his first 8-inning outing of the season, and first game with zero walks. Didn't think we'd be saying that on August 6, but he couldn't pick a better time to find it. Last two outings: 14 innings, 2 ER, 2-0. MUCH better!

If Verlander can put together something similar to Tuesday nites outing, in his next start....I will start to feel very comfortable.

I think peralta will be back personally. I also think in due time duffy will be a solid pitcher but i agree hes not going to do much this season.

You say logic indicates jp wont be back but i say logic indicates he will. Why carry ramon santiago over jp? You think the threat of a media circus is going to prevent them from carrying jp? I dont, in fact as a tigers fan i would be offendd if they carried santiago over peralta because peralta might give them bad pub. Its not going to be because he hasnt played real baseball either. Santiago hardly plays as is, jp isnt some 80 year old fart that needs help putting his underwear on hes a professional athlete. I just cant see any scenario where peralta is not on the playoff roster. He will have plenty of time to stay in shape.

Well hot damn! First porcello, then vmart..now JV. Granted its one start, but his velocity looks good and he claims he figured out what he was doing wrong. Shutting down the indians is more impressive than the nationals. I think JV is back and if he is..watch out american league that is by far the best rotation in baseball, not even close. With dotel and infante set to come back and iglesias playing short now this team is very unbeatable.

I hear we have DK, Pena, Santiago and Sweet Iggy at the bottom of the order today. Any strong objections?

If JV is back, you think Fister is gunning for the two spot? Or just staying as a three, or is he the four? It's hard to label this rotation. They're just so darn good.

WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH SOME FORMER TIGERS:

Jose Valverde: Tigers release him from Toledo. His AAA performance not awful, but not good either.

Ryan Raburn: Signs a two year extension with Cleveland. Option for a third year.

Brennan Boesch: Wondering what happened and writing a letter of apology to muzzer.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that the contract will pay Raburn $2.25 million in 2014 and $2.5 million in 2015. The club option for 2016 is for $3 million. The Indians can buy out that year for $100,000. In all, the deal guarantees $4.85 million.

This is why the Indians don't win anything except maybe a battle with the royals for best team with fans that don't actually go to games or buy team merchandise.

32 yr old Raturd gets a 2 yr ext at just under 5 mil guaranteed... Where does this put guys value like Benoit, Peralta, or Infante... Never did get anyone to answer my question if the tigers will call up Alverez next week to start one of the double header games against the royals.. if they don't... it will mess up the rotation and guys will be starting on 4 days rest.. because of the 5 games in 4 days. If they do call him up.. do they send perez down and call him up... then recall infante after the game? It will be interesting to see how DD handles next weeks schedule.

Its pretty funny that Cleveland paid him 5 mil guaranteed Burf.. that is why... I guess 5 mil doesn't buy you what it used to.

Ok I put my V-cash on ole Dougie Boy and the Tigers tonite.......JL going lefty against an unproven salazar. He had a good outing but is alot of Switch and lefty bats with some defense mixed in. Just pitch your game Dougie Boy.
