We have to remember that for Pavel Datsyuk, shooting on the net without doing anything creative IS new and original for him. He was probably excited when he discovered that was actually an option this year.

By my count that is at least 10 shooters in a row that the wings have failed to score even one goal in the shootout

Taking care of business with this lineup seems to be quite close to an oxymoron. The point is similar to Blood's enema comment.

Just examine who our personnel is on the backend - Kindl, Lashoff, Quincey, Ericsson, Kronwall, and DeKeyser. How many games are going to be in the win column with that group defending in our end?
The odds-makers would have a field day predicting the probabilities of the number of miscues that the first 5 on that list of dmen would make in each game they play. only DeKeyser would be the most consistent in their predictions of odds in that category, since he would be the only one of that bunch who would be assigned "PICK".
