In the NFL, torn ACLs are a fact of life – a brutal, horrifying fact, to be sure, but nonetheless an understood, ever-present risk. Which is to say that if anyone could be calloused against the news of a serious knee injury, a professional football player would be him.

And yet when Washington rookie Derrius Guice suffered his season-ending knee injury in August, veteran Chris Thompson couldn’t hold it together. “This is my first time ever shedding tears for a player,” Thompson told reporters one day after an MRI revealed the extent of Guice’s injury, suffered on his seventh carry in his first-ever pro game. Thompson spoke about seeing Guice after his diagnosis, and how much it killed him to see the rookie “faking the happiness.”

The point is, Guice’s injury was devastating. The good news is ACL tears are nowhere near the career death sentence they were 15 years ago, and Guice, who’ll just have turned 22 when training camp opens next summer, is likely to be back in time for the start of the 2019 regular season, when his progress will be eagerly monitored by fans already thrilled by that handful of electric preseason touches in his all-too-brief debut. Stay tuned.

This is from the athletic posted 27 dec 2018 . Take that alarmist

Dude is a beast. I pray he remains healthy moving forward. He also has an infectious personality this organization desperately needs.

You might want to re read what was said....

You speak in absolutes and if I had a nickel for every time you have been wrong speaking in absolutes dating back to ESPN I’d have quite the coin

RG3 posted some awesome videos in the off-season after his rookie year too... oh and Markelle Fultz drains 3s and pull up jumpers in his videos too

And don’t even get me started on the fluff videos that Terrelle Pryor posts (that you obviously ate up)

Can’t speak in absolutes when it comes to major knee injuries, especially to skilled position players who rely on explosion, and especially when said injuries have already had complications in the early stages

I'll toss out my 2 cents.

I'm with Skins2021. Speaking in absolutes, if it's supposed to be good news for the Skins. Is, lets say premature at best.

And good grief at using Robert Griffin as an example of a player who came back from injury the following year and started. That just tells a portion of the story. Plus he certainly didn't look as if he was back to being 100% at any point in the 2013 season.

More film destroying the OP’s assertion . While I provide tangible proof it isn’t exactly true . Now others have offered up lip service

RG got hurt in the playoffs though, not the pre-season. Doesn't mean Guice will kill it this year. It usually takes a full year to get back, but he's young and what if the kid is dynamic and changes our offense. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

I said he would be fine . No reason that shouldn’t be stated and so far my video evidence trumps fear

He should be able to play this year, full recovery is normally two years. He should be at about 85-90% this coming year. Confidence in the knee is everything.
