And that excuses the second best team to being shut out?

When that "second best" team(more like 4th or 5th, but whatever) is that position because of their 5th ranked defense - it kind of explains it and makes it not all that surprising.

Since Florida is playing Michigan and Michigan plays a good defense, I figure Michigan has got that one in the bag. If Florida was playing some team without a great defense, I'd pick Florida.

So how would you rank the SEC?

You're anal and it makes you stupid.

No, it's just that what you're saying doesn't make any sense and I'm voicing it and you don't want to explain yourself.

Georgia had a tougher SOS in 1981 than Alabama did in 2015, and pointing out the success that Tennessee and Texas AM had against Western Carolina doesn't help your argument. Beating Southern University and North Texas isn't relevant. You of all people should know that considering you spent all year making that point and saying that record has absolutely not indication of team strength. You act like whatever favors Alabama is accurate regardless of what math and logic says.

Hmmm. What about since Michigan is playing Florida and Florida plays good defense, I figure Michigan has got that one in the bag? I don't think it's going to be easy for Michigan to score in that game.

Do you realize how much a single FCS game makes in a 12 game schedule?

Sorry, I just don't consider less than 10% of the schedule and 1 game/win difference to be significant in this case. If you want to go find a better method of SoS to apply to both, then be my guest. We aren't ranking teams, we are looking at 2 teams and there is a large gap.

If I go apply the same metric to the current season while ranking a bunch of teams, feel free to call me out.

Michigan is much better on offense will be the difference I think. Offenses are always going to be able to score on any defense - as long as the offense is able to hit the lower % plays, or take advantage of the blown defense plays. Michigan is better suited to do that.

Henry will win it, But McCaffrey is the more complete player, and should win it IMO. To say he is overrated :L. Take both players and switch team and tell me how each player does..

Henry does better on Stanford than McCaffrey does on Bama. Henry has 1400 or 70% of his Yards after contact. Henry leads the country in Broken tackles and I dont think McCaffrey could break all the tackles Henry has had too to accumulate his yards. McCaffrey has a better QB and O-line than Henry.

3rd in total defense 4th in rushing defense.

Henry put up 13carries for 147 yards and 3TDs against them.
the biggest comparison in my book is northwestern and wisconson. I agree with you and the board ref. when you compare the defenses they faced. its really pretty cut and dry. Henry is the real deal. big numbers in big games vs legit defenses. McCaffery has some severely padded stats and HAS been shut down when he faced the one top 25 defense he face . Cute story tho but he's not the predator

what did wisconsin rank?
Here comes the other side my friend. Also anyone accusing of slanting stats, I can look up by game. I have zero horse in this race, only difficult thing is Charleston Southern is not a FBS team. Since that was his worst game anyway due to not getting touches, I am not including them in terms of rankings of defenses.

Wisconsin: 1 in scoring D, 3 in total D, 4 in rushing D.
147 rushing yards in 13 touches averaging 11.3 yards per touch and 3 touchdowns.
Arkansas: 75 in scoring D, 72 in total D, 16 in rushing D.
95 yards in 27 touches, 3.5 yards a carry, 1 td.

Henry averaged 153 yards against top 26 rushing defenses (faced 5 teams, Mcaffery faced 1) with 1.8 touchdowns a game.

Alabama's FBS opponents averaged: 41 in scoring D (1 over 100, 3 top 25), 46 in total D (1 ranked 94, 4 ranked in top 25), 49 in rushing D (2 over 100, 5 in top 26).
