The Titans and Panthers still going to be pretty bad. And maybe the Jags also.
Titans are definitely contenders for it as well, also don’t forget the Jets. I think the Panthers are going in the right direction, I don’t see them being the worst team in the NFL as Bryce Young seems to have turned the corner, I doubt they compete with the Bucs and Falcons in the NFC South but I think they are improving. The Jags are very interesting, I could see things going in a variety of directions for them, they are one team I have no idea what to expect from really, they could be awful or they could be okay. The AFC South definitely looks like the weakest division in the NFL and the Texans should easily win it if Stroud stays healthy. The Colts may also be awful just due to their QB situation, Anthony Richardson/Daniel Jones, yikes, and the Seahawks could be dreadful as well.

I think the Jets will be better and not among the worst teams (or bottom 5-8)....

I don’t agree, I don’t think Fields is very good and their receiving unit is rather weak, and their rushing game was underwhelming last year. Their solid D may prevent them from being one of the worst but I wouldn’t be shocked if the Jets wind up with one of the NFL’s worst records.

I think the Panthers will be better. It seems like Bryce Young started to turn the corner. I also think they have a pretty good head coach. We will see. I think they’re 9-8 and a fringe Wild Card team.

I don’t think the Panthers make the playoffs but I think they’ll be competitive and somewhat better than last year. I think the South division race is between the Bucs and my Falcons.

Yep. They’ve drafted pretty well the last few years and I love their coach. They competed with the Eagles on the line of scrimmage. They’re gonna be better than people think. They’re not a contender or anything. They’re just not likely to be dog shit. 9-8 makes them about the 17th or 18th best team.

Bold and I like it! I do agree I think we're finally going to see Byrce Young really turn that corner but I'm in that 7 win range which is still improving and IMO they're 1 more solid draft ('26) and adding another key FA away from contending for a WC.

I also think Carolina could easily surprise playing in the NFC South. That division is first team to 10 wins.

LOL that’s not happening. Falcons are in a win now mode, and they should have a good team, I think it’s a toss up between them and the Bucs as to who wins the South

Texans are retooling their OL and WR group. I personally think they should be a team you want to play in the first half of the year but maybe put it all together and make another run. If the rest of the AFC South can't get the Texans this year then Stroud might win it every year (which looks very possible)

I just don’t see the other 3 teams in the AFC South being playoff caliber teams, only team I could possibly see competing with the Texans are the Jags if things go right for them and Lawrence has a much better season and their D improves. The Colts QB situation is a disaster and the Titans roster is just pretty weak. So I think the Texans are clearly the best in the division even with the issues at O-Line and some uncertainty at receiver

nobody thinks the jets are going to beat out buffalo... but miami and the patriots are pretty bad too... Sure, Breece Hall and Garret Wilson had under performing seasons last year, but that was more because Rodgers needed to throw the ball to his Packers last season... it hurt the actual good Jets players...

I would definitely expect Hall to return as a top end RB, and Wilson to return as a top end WR... even with fields... in fact i think Fields makes both players better...

its hard to pinpoint how many wins they SHOULD get this season... but i can easily see them winning 9 or 10 games this year... just remember what their expectations were last pre-season... I am not sure what the under/over is for them yet, but i would bet the over... they actually have good upside too...

now of course, things can easily fall apart as well... definitely a big window of potential outcomes for them... but again... they do play in a very weak division... and they do have the third place schedule(not as good as last place schedule, but should be fine)... things seem to lean in their favour...

Daniel Jones did get the Giants to the playoffs with an elite RB but I think it would take everything going right for that to happen again. Jones only has had 1 good season out of 6 so...16% chance for the Colts to be good maybe sounds about right.

Titans put together just enough old talent to see if Ward can learn the game. If Sneed can actually get healthy again I kinda like their defense but they were 30th in D last year so even an average defense would likely take a large improvement. They look like the Patriots from last year imo and they went 4-13.

That really does just leave the Jaguars. According to AGL their offense was more banged up than the average team but the defense was bad with its starters. The only thing they're adding on D is Eric Murray at S and he is replacement level imo. They need 1 of their 2 DTs they drafted in 2024 to improve and probably need Travis Hunter as a pro bowl level CB to really put them in discussion to compete with the Texans imo.

If the Colts had a decent QB they would be a pretty good team IMO but they just don’t - unless Richardson/Jones plays massively better than they have in the past, I don’t see the Colts contending for a playoff spot. Richardson and Jones are two of the biggest QB busts in the last decade, neither of them should’ve been drafted in the first round, much less the top 10.
The Titans just don’t have enough offensive weapons or a very good D, they are rebuilding and will have a rough year IMO.
The Jags will be interesting, they have some good pieces but their O needs to stay healthy and they need some more receiving options to emerge, and their D, particularly their secondary, has to play better.
I just don’t see any of the 3 beating out the Texans for the division crown as long as Stroud stays healthy. The Texans D looks outstanding.

I have a hard time seeing it, too. The Chiefs did beat the Texans in the playoffs because their oline and special teams stunk but the Texans otherwise outplayed them. I don't really see a Chiefs team in the AFC South.

You’re not liking Purdy ? He’s pretty good overall …

I love Purdy. But in Manning I see someone like a Steve Young style. I see Purdy more of a Joe Montana style and with our offensive line who has no pass blocking ability outside of Williams and now Puni. Great at zone run blocking for the most part, but horrid pass blocking. With how small Purdy is I am afraid he will not last too long. I am always looking at the long term.
