Derby to Start for Arkansas

Just read that on Facebook. Will be interesting to see how well he does. Always thought it was a mistake letting him go and not giving him more of a look at QB after Stanzi graduated. Hell, couldn't have been much worse than JVB, right?

Ferentz was the issue as much as Derby was arrogant. Last year Ferentz used the inept JVB on every snap, now we are doing the same to Rudock although he needs the experience thanks to none last year. Thought against ISU when we were up big 1/2 way through the 3rd he could have sent in the backup for a series. He is afraid to have a QB controversy like we did when he named JC the starter and flopped back and forth between him and Stanzi until the right guy won out. Since then he's stuck with whoever HE names. Derby would have at least let us know if JVB was the right guy. Good luck to him down there. And if he transfers back, tell him to bring his coach with him.

Derby was 3rd string at best when he was at Iowa. JVB was the 2nd best QB on the team. Iowa fans gave him a lot of praise when he went in for Stanzi the year they went to the Orange Bowl. After that season, Derby left.

If he didn't leave, he may have had the chance to fight for playing time. I don't feel sorry for Derby at all.
