I'll have a more in depth thought post tomorrow but I think what is lost in some of the struggle on offense is 2 of these 3 games have been on the road. Not always the easiest way to get a new offense going. Throw in these have been prime time road games so lots more pressure yet our team is undefeated. I would also say the offense has improved each game just a little while the defense just continues to dominate. We are working to be at our best in December and beyond not peaking in September.
I am very happy to see Fowler not only on the field, but looking great and making things happen .... and I think it would be a huge boost if we could get Virg more involved in the game - we've got these guys who can make things happen with the ball in their hands ..
Where is James Casey ?
And pound for pound, Emmanuel Sanders has got to be one of the toughest players I have ever seen - the guy gets knocked around, leveled and just gets up smiling as if he enjoys it - I love the guy ...
I am disappointed in Demaryius - he doesn't seem to carry the fire in his belly ... the drops and inconsistency and disappearing act aside, he just doesn;t seem in love with the game and being out there ... but just when I start thinking this, he'll come up with a great play ... I don't have confidence that he's gonna bring his A Game when we need it ......
I guess with Fowler out there now making plays, we won't be seeing the emergence of Cody Latimer anytime soon .... wow
Alright so some interesting thoughts on this one...
Bennie Fowler this was somewhat a home coming type game for him being from Michigan and going to Michigan State. Glad to see him get on the field and contribute in a big way. Hopefully he just continues to build on this.
Bruton said he knew exactly what route they were running and where the ball was going before the ball was even snapped on his interception. From the sound of these guys talking the Secondary has really kicked it up a notch in their film room time compared to last year. Harris and Talib were both great at getting into the film room but the rest of the group wasn't always as consistent. Same with Roby in Talib was bragging about how much Roby is just asking questions and watching as much film as possible to prepare for these games. He wants to be known as one of the top Corners in the league and well he has great mentors to get there.
I know that Miller did not show up a ton in the stat line but he did actually receive PFF's highest grade for a Bronco in this game. He graded out with a +6.4. He was doubled almost the entire game yet still got pressure and was huge in the run game of not giving up the edge and forcing a lot of runs his way back towards the middle.
Roby had the 2nd highest grade with a +3.7. Manning is next with a +2.4.
Juwan Thompson did not return to the game last night but his neck injury is considered to be minor. He maybe will miss a game but that would be worst case scenario from what I am hearing.
The Broncos are 1 game away from getting a Defensive Starter back from suspension! I wonder how much playing time Wolfe is going to get with just how good all these guys have done in his place.
