Romo is a bad QB. This is a fact.

It's easier to get open when teams can't target their defense at you and you have another pro bowl receiver as your third weapon, and it's easier to catch passes from Manning than Romo.

There is a thing called stats.

All Time Passer rating.
Rank Player (age), + - HOFer, Bold - Active Rate Years Teams
1. Aaron Rodgers (29) 105.2 2005-2013 gnb
2. Steve Young+ 96.8 1985-1999 2TM
3. Peyton Manning (36) 96.7 1998-2013 2TM
4. Tony Romo (32) 96.1 2004-2013 da

Romo>Brady

It's not even close really.

Dez Bryant

Thomas is probably a more explosive player but few receivers can dominate a game like Dez despite what you think of him personally over his off field stuff.

Laughable. Brady is having an awful year this year and there isn't a GM in the league who would consider having Romo over Brady if given the option. Not a single one.

Of course when you go by passer rating against the average, Steve Young absolutely crushes everyone else. He was scary efficient; his star burned bright, but it didn't burn very long.

Thomas is playing on a team who spreads the ball around to 3 other very good options, while Dez is the primary option on a team who only has 1 other very good option at this time. Thomas has more catches despite being targeted less, and has more yards. The only thing Dez has more of is TDs, and that's because he is the #1 option and gets more opportunities.

How much longer will people continue to dismiss Thomas, when its obvious that he's always been the better player?

True. Thomas is a class act too.

Just like Dez, err, err, ah, yes, I mean, yeah, Thomas is a class act.

Tom Brady continues to get it done year after year, even as the management continues to let all of his weapons go.

Tony Romo would have 12 TD passes vs about two dozen plus picks a year if he only had the surrounding "talent" that Brady has year in, and year out, for all but a few exceptions.

Brady has usually had better talent around him than Romo and been asked to due less. Brady has consistently had good lines while Romo's have usually sucked. Brady also usually has a good defense to support him, and had better receivers and a stronger running game from 07-11. Inspite of this Romo has a higher career rating.

Romo>Brady and it's not even close.

Who did Brady have to throw to? Two years of Randy Moss, a few years of Wes Welker and a bunch of stumblebums.

Agree that Brady's defense was better but the OL's are a wash.

Plus it is a bad year when Brady does not have his team WIN a Super Bowl. It will be a great achievement when Romo will someday win one playoff game...if that ever occurs...

Not sure how you can call the OL's a wash. Brady has always had great protection across the board where Dallas has been working for years to try and assemble an even respectable line for Romo.

The top 10 WRs is a pretty good debate now. A few years ago, it was pretty concrete, but now there are a lot of very good WRs. Hmm.

Calvin
Green
Marshall
Andre
Larry Fitz
Roddy
Thomas/Dez/Julio/Cruz
Vincent Jackson
Jordy Nelson
Jennings
Welker/Decker

That's 15 off the top of my head. And I'm sure I left off a few very good ones.

I think other than the guy at the top every other spot on the list is debatable for the top 10 receivers in the NFL. Right now for me I would go

Calvin
Green
Fitzgerald
Andre
Marshall
Dez
Julio
Thomas
Welker
Steve Smith (got to give the little guy some credit for producing year in and year out)

I assume you're using "better" in a Platonic sense here, since there is absolutely no evidence to support that claim in a practical sense.

I am huge Fitz fan but what you just said is crazy. Fitz played with a HOF quarterback in Warner and had a great #2 to take some pressure off of him in Bolden down in Arizona and still never came close to the numbers that Calvin has put up.

They're pretty even, however I don't think the argument holds water that Denever has way more targets and Dez is the only redeemable guy. When it comes down to it Witten is the guy Romo will target in a must scenario. T Williams is getting a lot of looks now, Miles got looks before he went down. The Cowboys have targets to move the ball around with. You could also argue that if Denver's other targets are stronger than the Cowboys that Dez would see more double/triple coverage than DT.

Both are studs, and personality wise it's not even close DT is better. But if I had to choose, one must win game you could have either guy on your team I'd go with Dez. The circus catches he pulls out of his ass are just unmeasurable.

My top 5 would probably be:

Calvin
Julio
AJ Green
Fitz
Dez

Brady has had Moss, Welker, Gronkowski, and Hernandez to throw it to for the second half of his career. Those are elite targets.

Lol at calling the Cowboys and Patriots offensive lines washes.
