I love the NHL, but I feel like a parent who is watching their 13 year old son running his mouth and then losing a fist fight. Sure you want to help him out.....but that part of you knows that he deserves what he's getting and he's got to learn the hard way.

I think you made the right choice Biz even though I'm sure it must have been a tough one. I think not only does a message need to be sent to the NHL Owners/Players, but I also think you doing this sends a good message to your son. It teaches him that there are going to be tough decisions to make in life, but you need to do what you/he feels is the right to do.

Even if it would hurt the Sharks franchize, I do hope that a lot of Sharks STH's do the same thing you did.

If we lose another season of hockey (and it's looking more and more like we will each day), I doubt that we will still have a 30 team NHL.

I think a lot of fans are starting to reach that point. I've lost a ton of interest in the NHL and to be honest I really haven't been following any news from the league recently. I said before the year that I felt the season would be lost and yeah, that sure as hell is what's happening. I've said before that I won't be excited again until Seattle gets their arena built and a team takes up residence. Could be up to a decade away, but I'm OK with that. I'll continue to follow the WHL and watch guys play a game because they love it, instead of for money.

That would be ironic. While the Players fight the good fight.....some teams are forced to fold.....therefore providing less jobs than there are now.....and adding more NHL level competition to the pool which will drive down the contract salaries and terms.

My grandson Tyler was just getting into hockey big time and liked watching the Sabres games with his daddy and grandpa when I am down there. My daughter in law was starting to watch the games as well.

So now we have another lock out and looks like another lost season. Thanks NHL, both owners and players that don't give a shit about their fans and do me a favor, if you arrogant egotistical pricks ever get this sorted out DON'T YOU DARE paint "Thank You Fans" on the ice because as far as I'm concerned that would be more of an insult that a sign of appreciation you bunch of self centered pricks !!! I blame both sides and one more thing....
