Well, yeah, you would kind of expect that from a guy that had 140% more PAs as DH than Thome.
Thome could play competent defense, so he spent most of his career in the field, as opposed to Ortiz, who has been a DH for almost 90% of his PAs.
After considering this a little, I'm not to sure that David Ortiz has been the best DH of all time. Literally every player in the majors is capable of playing DH. That is not the case with the other positions. Seems like every hitter in baseball should be in the conversation of who is the best DH.
