well anybody remember Steve Howe he was as talented a Pitcher as you could wish for but he could not stay off the pills booze coke and meth car accident took his life sad end to what could have been a hall of fame career.
Not everyone can deal with the pressure fame and money in professional sports. Most of these guys on the teams we cheer for are in their early 20's with behavior expectations of people in their late 30's to early 40's.
Now Im not condoning stupidity and what should be common sense that is not so common anymore. The leagues try to explain what can and does happen to young men with fame and lots of $$$$$ falling from the pockets with the women, bad hangers on, family, predatory business adventures and of course anything going into your body any and all of which can cost you a career or a fortune in cash to fix if you still have any.
With all that said David should have known better he chose poorly in the crazy woman whom he fathered a child and for whatever violation of substance he used. I hope he gets it together and all in 1 sock and is not the next Rolando McClain etc out of the league looking back at what could have set himself and his family up for life.

As talented as Irving is on the field I am tired of all of the drama that comes with him. He probably could be signed at a discount in 2019, similar to rolando mcclain. I don't see teams lining up to offer him a huge contract. His off field stuff will cause him to lose millions and I see a long suspension in his future

Dallas Cowboys
David Irving, DT

i
Suspension: Missed the first four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy

What his return means: The Cowboys' defensive line rotation should get stronger, but that depends on Irving’s conditioning. He missed most of the offseason program while dealing with personal issues. He did not go to training camp, spending his time in a Hollywood gym working out. He has been around the team the past three weeks, but the Cowboys aren’t sure if he will be able to contribute on the field right away. With injuries to Antwaun Woods (calf) and Maliek Collins (knee), the Cowboys could be forced to play Irving before he is ready. -- Todd Archer

Irving is going to be a force. The question I have is how soon he is suspended again?

Fuck David Irving and his personal problems. He's had long enough to work them out. What's the matter? His goldfish has appendicitis? Personal problems my ass. Dock him a week's pay.

What's next week, his cousin's Bar Mitzvah?

He has played what, 1 game this year? Between his suspensions, family problems, and injuries, I say we sign him for 4 years for 100,000 dollars. 25 thousand a year seems about right for when he plays.

Hope he’s willing to take the hometown rate or something along those lines. Because if he isn’t, I say we wish him well in his future endeavors.

We should be able to sign him next year. With his baggage and injury history nobody will give him a multi year deal. The problem is he has played in like 2 games in the last year and seems to always be suspended. The guy has cost himself millions
