Just said that Stamkos was physically stronger than Ovechkin at this point in their respective careers.

Is there a feature on SportsHoopla where we can give negative rep points to media figures?

That's a weird thing for him to say. Stamkos isn't a pussy, but geez.. he's not that big or physically imposing. Ovechkin looks like a stainless steel wrecking ball.

I don't think he could be more wrong. Generally Dreger is pretty good but he's way off the mark here. LOL

Also, good to see the Sens finally get a win. No surprise that Leclaire got injured again.

It was good to see a win Urk. They have been paying pretty well, with the exception of the Leafs game. They have dominated much of their season so far. The problem is that their errors are few but they are much too glaring, IMO.

I don't think Gonchar is a long term solution on the PK. They need to get a more defensive-minded d-man in there.

The transition game shows a ton of promise though, especially when Karlsson starts playing like last year.

As for Leclaire, I'm just resigned to the fact that he'll never be healthy. He's just unlucky to have a fragile body with awesome reflexes.

Hopefully Elliott can help Ottawa on a nice run so that Lehner can get his feet wet before Leclaire returns.

Not that any of this matters to a guy who is boycotting the Sens. :D

P.S. That really was an idiotic thing for Dreger to say.

Stamkos is awesome but there has probably NEVER been a more pure physical talent than OV.

The first 2 games were pretty brutal I thought. They were trying to play run and gun hockey with no structure to their game what so ever. They got burned and the Leafs put them in their place. In the long run that will probably turn out to be a good thing because they played a very good game against the Caps and it carried over to tonight. If they could just get the power play going then they'll start a hot streak I think.

I agree on Gonchar but when Kuba comes back then it'll take some of the pressure off of Gonch. In the meantime he's going to have to play more minutes then he should. Don't underestimate how good Kuba is though. When he comes back the defense is going to look pretty damn good.

Yeah, Leclaire just can't stay healthy and it's a shame because he is a very good goalie. He just never gets a chance to get in any kind of rhythm because he's injured all the time. Hopefully Elliott can handle the load for awhile.

Overall, it's been a pretty bad start but it may be a good wake up call to these guys. Now they know they have to play a certain way to win and I'm sure in a couple weeks they'll be back on the radar screen of a lot of people.

Boycotting? I was for awhile but it's all good now. :D

Well, Stamkos just finished his second year, right? I seem to remember a lot of Caps fans saying Ovechkin had bulked up over recent summers. How big was Ovechkin at the end of the 07 season? It is possible that current Stamkos is physically stronger than summer of 07 Ovechkin?
