Just curious, how old are his kids?

Never gonna fault a person for wanting to spend more time with things that really matter in life like being with family.

But what did he expect when he signed up for the job? Granted 8 years is a long run in most coaching professions.

But he had to know when he signed up that it was gonna be taxing on his personal life.

I don't buy that stuff. Osborne was putting in 18 hour days during football season and didn't even live in Lincoln. A janitor in Memorial Stadium said Osborne was the first to arrive in the morning and the last to leave at night.

I highly doubt Erstad was putting in that kind of time even during the season. Let alone the 8 months of off-season.
Dude had school teacher hours.

2012 - 2016 he was paid $163,200 plus bonuses, plus a car, plus a Country Club Membership

In 2016 the LA Dodgers came calling

2016 - 2023 $224,952 plus bonuses, plus a car, plus a Country Club Membership

If he was smart with his pro baseball money, he should have been setup for life and the coaching money was just gravy.

My guess, Nebraska bought out his final four years which is basically a $1,000,000 buyout.

Wish I had that type of job.

Thanks for coaching at Nebraska Darin, and thanks for being a Cornhusker.

His net worth is $24 million. He is probably ok.

He was 'allowed' to resign.

He wasn’t pushed out. This was all him. He called a team meeting on the bus as they came back from OKC and told the team. Moos was never going to fire him.

1) Keep our best talent at home.
2) Regularly finish in the Top 3 of the Big 10.
3) Win a Big 10 tourney.
4) Host a Regional or more.

.

1) don’t care, lots of reasons players go other places that are not the coach’s fault
2) 1000000% agree
3) what’s that like? And make the B1G tourney every year, no excuses
4) Hosting a regional is really tough in the B1G. Not impossible but really hard.

Nebraska baseball practices for 6 weeks in the fall and another 2 weeks prior to the season opener.

That's 2 months of practice and 3.5 months of season.

Looks like anywhere from 9 - 14 to me. Could be +/- a year either way.
