Do I have to watch anything since the Defenders beforehand for storyline purposes?

I would recommend Cage2 and IF2, but I don’t think it is needed. They both take place, timeframe wise, during the first episode of DD3.

I enjoyed the season... but was disappointed by the last episode... Also, it should not have been a 13 episode season, especially when one whole episode was dedicated to Karen's origin... you can skip that episode, and it wouldn't change any of your opinions about anyone or anything...

Eh, I give them some rope on that. I assume it will prove important going forward. I think you can make an argument that they could have skipped back and forth on that narrative, but that'd have been hard to pull off too.

really, wouldn't have been difficult... the whole episode could have been condensed easily into a 15 minute flashback...

No I get that point, it wasn't necessary to go into that much detail FOR WHAT WE'VE SEEN SO FAR. But I'm assuming that they're going to have a story arc for her next season, where the detail will be necessary. If they don't, then absolutely!, cut that down.

But I'm guessing that there's a big re-union with Dad coming next year (or later), so they laid that groundwork this season.

So my point was that they could've had the same level of content, but interwoven it into the larger story, (a series of flashbacks, not one long one) but THAT would've been hard to do.

I kept expecting some scene in the denoument with Karen and her father, but when it didn't happen, I figure they're saving that arc for next season or beyond.

but it was weird, it was so much filler throughout the season(not just that episode), and yet we went into the last episode with NOTHING solved at all... no plan, and then at the end it just magically comes up rainbows and kittens...

Like I said, I was very disappointed with the end...

You and I are on the same page. Plus, what's to stop Kingpin from killing them all with Vanessa out of the country.

When the Karen episode began I looked at Lil Ms Cyder and said "This is like a Family Guy, Meg episode".

I did like Bullseye however, the character using everything in sight as a weapon was great.

Just finished about an hour ago. Overall, VERY solid season. Maybe the best full season yet in the Flix-verse.

As for the finale, I rather enjoyed it. That boss fight was epic. They should have put more focus on the painting getting ruined, though. They spent so much time building up its importance, then just had it ruined in the background with no commentary?

The prison fight earlier in the season was about a 15 minute single shot with some insane choreography. I want to go back and watch it again to see if I can find the breaks. I saw where they swapped out Cox for a double in a few spots, but I didn’t see any film cuts. Super impressive.

If you want to see it done even bigger and better, watch Children of Men. If you can find it on DVD, the extra features on how they filmed it are awesome.

Fisk is a great fucking villain. I never understood why people didn’t want him showing up in DD2.

I loved this season.

there is no such thing as a bad season of DD.

Fisk and Dex were great.

Matt's transformation is interesting, although hard to understand why he's so angry when he chose to stay down there with Elektra.
