Well only so much could have been expected out of that midget line-up the Rockets had. I wouldn't be surprised if the next change is Daryl Morey.
Yep. Wouldn't surprise me either. As I posted earlier...at this point, everyone knows what D'Antoni is bringing. If the FO buys in, then it's on them when they get the same results everyone else has gotten.
And that's not to say D'Antoni's system is all bad. It has some merit to it. It's fun, players want to play in it, it puts butts in seats, it's gets you a bunch of regular season wins and trips to the playoffs.
But in the playoffs, it's a bunch of 1st and 2nd round exits with a conference finals appearance mixed in...but no finals appearances or titles.
The only thing I can say in his defense is how many times was his Rockets the favorites in any series? Two of those losses were to LeBron and AD (obviously). And pretty sure another loss was to the loaded Warriors.
But that's part of the issue. I don't think his Suns teams were ever favorites to win a title either, even though they were always very good.
That small ball, shoot 50 threes a game philosophy just doesn't work well enough in the playoffs. So it's unlikely they would ever be favored to win a title. There will always be a team that is bigger and has players that can defend against that style. Especially with up to 7 games to figure out how to defend it.
The closest to the Rockets to win a title is probably the Warriors and they were bigger and played defense. And they were never as "3 dependent" as the Rockets.
I agree with that. Not sure his style of coaching will ever end in a title.
I figured he would leave
Thats what he did in Phoenix, New York and Los Angeleslol
So he quit before they can fire him.

Morey should be fired. He has no ability other than "who is the biggest name that might be available and how can we cram contracts around to get him". Instead of trying to build a team of complementing parts, he just gets as much offense on the floor at one time. It's as if he thinks at some point a second ball will be put on the court.Well only so much could have been expected out of that midget line-up the Rockets had. i really don't think they were going to fire him. he was loved in this town.....lol

It doesn't work because a three pointer is still subject to the a law of averages. No matter how talented the team you ain't making 60 percent of them like you will with a good look near the rim. You're also not making the defense work as hard and you limit second chance points.
