Mayock just compared this guy to Ngata. If that is the case should he be the guy to target? Coefiled is overpaid and getting old.

I'm sure he will be on our list. Its just a matter of is he the BPA when our pick comes up. If not, Scot will pass. If you've read any of his interviews, its clear he is a firm believer in taking the best available athlete at any position. Its athletes that make plays and win games. When you target a player or position, you tend to reach which rarely turns out well. Look at our picks in the OL over the last 3-5 years. We took guys we reached on because we needed OL help. Well, not one has cracked the starting lineup. Same thing with S.

Shelton has the prototypical size we need for a 3-4 NT. I saw some talk here about trying to get Jared Odrick from the Dolphins. The problems there is he's a smallish type of NT in the mold of Barry Cofield. While Cofield has done okay in the middle, we'd be better by getting someone like Shelton or Dan Williams from the Cards to play NT. And NT is the key to any 3-4 defense. If we get someone who fits that bill, we can have Baker spell the NT we get and slide Cofield to the right side -- that is if Cofield is still around.

yeah, specifically for Redskinsfan, we're playing GM with the idea of oldrick being versatile enough to play DE in the 3-4. Shelton has some above average numbers two years in a row for his position, and it appears he's also helped his teammates out too.

Unfortunately we have yet to add the prototypical NT for the 3-4 in our scheme. Cofield has overachieved.
Some folks were scratching their heads at KC drafting Poe so high, Shelton could work out for us. It may not even be an argument if he wasn't an NT.
