I really haven't watched the Giants much this year so I have a question. Has he been good enough to warrant investment into him or is it time to move on? I heard from many that this was a make or break year for him, and it looks from the outside that the answer is break, but is it other issues that made this year not his fault?

Absolutely not to anyone that hasn't been drinking the blue kool-aid and the Giants FO.

If anything, they should poke the Russell Wilson camp this offseason... again.

Isn't it only his 3rd year? They don't need to invest in him yet. They need to stop failing to give him (And Barkley) a good offensive line.
Good QB's worth hanging on to hold up even with poor protection, typically.

Did you see people arguing if Herbert and Joe Burrow were NFL QB's last year outside the first couple weeks? Jones just isn't all that good. Even Jimmy G would be a big upgrade.

He is in the 'bridge' QB tier imo. Sits as the 21-23rd best QB in the league right now in a lot of metrics. Giants have the worst red zone offense in the NFL, though.

Saquon Barkley was a generational talent at RB coming out and he is busting fairly hard so all signs point to organizational issues imo. Im generally of the opinion that if they went after Wilson then he would stink in New York.

Imo Giants should build a team with their draft picks and keep Jones around for the ride. Eventually pick up his replacement 1-2 years from now.

Well he learned from Eli Manning, so I’d say he’s playing up to the expectations of his predecessor. Eli retired with a QB rating of 84.1; Jones’ QB rating is currently sitting at 84.3. Seems like the kid learned everything he could from Manning.

There are plenty of things Shanahan can be criticized for, his scheme isn't one of them really.

Biggest criticism is his inability to run the ball with a lead in a Super Bowl. By himself, he’s responsible for two different teams losing SBs recently for that exact reason.

Right, it has nothing to do with the fact that Brady and Mahomes are good football players...

I like how you're suggesting that Jimmy G passing to wide open guys is considered bad play calling while also stumping for Jimmy G

That’s why when your facing them and have the lead, you run the ball. Control the clock so they can’t beat you. If Taysom Hill can do it…

I think there is a good argument for ball control against the Pats in the 28-3 game. Against the Chiefs, they won by 2 possessions. Niners needed to score points somewhere.

yet that’s EXACTLY what the eagles did with wentz. The Eagles paid wentz 9 figures before they had to and Eagles fans said it was a good move.

Jones is a slow processor and he stares down receivers. He has all the physical tools and decent mechanics but those 2 flaws will always produce sacks and turnovers.

He's been the perfect amount of "just good enough" to keep the Giants hoping and to keep them from starting over with a different QB

A poor man's Tony Romo? Sorry, I had to. (I'm aware my QB is Cousins).

No I don't think that's true. Herbert and Burrow haven't had to deal with 3 years of the awful offensive line that Jones has had. The Giants have had a horrendous offensive line for a really long time now. Preceding Jones. It's a horrifically bad unit and the main reason I would say that franchise has turned into such a major dumpster fire for over half a decade now.
