Lots of Ram fans crowed about the Rams letting him go...Nobody doubted his skills, just his ability to stay healthy...I was one of those guys wondering about his knees...This year he won't even make it to the pre-season as he tears the ACL in his right knee..The left had been his big problem...Now I'm left to wonder if this might be the end of a very promising receiver...

We knew why we let him go. Its a real shame. He had a really promising career but his knees could never hold out.

He had the highest Value above Replacement at the WR position in the whole NFL while he was on the Chargers. They are going to miss him.

I'm hoping that Tavon Austin will quickly make us forget about all of the wiffs we've had in the past!

Keenan Allen can fill that role. Wouldn't be surprised if they brought in Brandon Lloyd either; he's still unsigned.

I wouldn't call DX a whiff, since he was a UDFA.

Yeah it was hard to see him go as he did have some promising talent... He played very well for the Chargers during his short stint there. We made the right decision by letting him go... We can't afford to put hope in WRs who keep having injury problems.

Bum out. I really liked the kid. But like others have said we made the right decision. We can't put our team hopes into a guy that can't stay healthy. Here's to hoping he's successful in whatever he decides to do.

I have conveniently convinced myself that I have no recollection of that ever happening, lol.

Dude came within 100 yards of the single season receiving record his senior year here at Mizzou. Tough to see 2 Tiger legends go down already this year.

Well, yeah. He was a rookie at the time. If you're relying on a rookie WR to get you to the playoffs, he better be Randy Moss.

Or Tavon Austin :suds:

You mentioned rookies, so was Bradford, they played well that year. But damm, he should have caught that pass. It was perfectly thrown. The wiff comment wasnt directed entirely at Denario, there were numerous other wr's that we drafted or signed as FA's that dropped a ton of passes. But every time I hear DA's name I think of that play. I dont know why. I dont hate or hold a grudge, I just think about what would have happened if he would of caught that pass.

If this year's team played the schedule we played that year, we'd go 13-3.

It was 1 pass in a 7-9 season. If he had caught it he would probably have gone to ground at the 20. Maybe we win the game, maybe we don't, but either way we weren't really a playoff calibre team.

We didn't have a decision to make about Alexander. We wanted to put him on IR last season since he couldn't get on the field during pre-season. The IR rules were being changed to allow 1 player to come back from IR during the season. Alexander wouldn't have been eligible due to the timing of his injury. As I recall, (and I could be wrong), he objected to being put on IR. He wanted a medical release and compensation package - which he received.

I was surprised that no-one made a move for him during this off-season. He was tendered at 'Draft-entry' level meaning there would have been no compensation to pay. The Chargers would have had the right of first refusal to match any offer. They might not have been willing to pay. I wish Alexander well but it's going to be tough coming back from this latest injury.

Yea I reported DA tearing up his knee on another thread Mikey. I do remember that play against the Seahags and I just shake my head. Rooks or no rooks, a pass that close should be caught. It was like the pass in the '70-'80 Superbowl against Pissburgh that Ferragamo did not make to a wide-open Billy Waddy in the end-zone instead throwing the pick that just killed us. Oh those plays that hurt!!

Man you guys missed his college career. I always think of the great games he had against kansas.

2007: 8 catches 117 yards 1 TD
2009: 15 catches 223 yards 1 TD

Those performances in Arrowhead are what legends are made of and that's how I'll always remember him. He played his biggest games against the biggest opponent!
