Report: Seahawks' Dan Quinn 'favorite' to land Jets coach position : Fantasy News

welp I guess it was pretty obvious that quinn was going to be picked up by someone and that it was only a matter of time on who the team was. from what the article says looks like the Jets will select him as the new HC guess they want him to bring the winning culture we have in seattle to NY I think its a good fit because the Jets already have a good defense and solid recievers. congrats to him he was a DC at a failing university of florida program to HC in the NFL in 2 years

Heard the Marrone interviews went badly when he was considered one of the top choices. Think with the Jets house clearing and the Pats/Brady era nearing it's end, there looking to mimic the Seahawks blueprint. Quinn has ties to the north east and would be a great fit for them. Just need the right GM and a plan and they'll get it done.

Will miss Quinn as he's agressive on the D and gets the job done.

If he's gone, lots of aloha sent his way as he's a big reason we got a Lombardi at the VMAC.

Well if the Jets and alot of other teams still dont have head coaches in the next week I think its clear he is gone. I just think its slightly odd no team has filled their head coaching vacancy. Makes me wonder if Quinn is the domino that needs to fall to set things in motion.

Add Denver to list of teams looking for a head coach.

I know that coaching and front office work are different things, but I didn't think the Jets would be so eager to hire any more Seahawks staff after the Idzik "era".

Jets have some decent components on the lines and it's too early to call Amaro but they're kind of a mess everywhere else. Decker had an OK season, but he's getting paid too much for what he does. Harvin is just ridiculous and needs to be cut, $11M my butt (but now they're stuck with him).

Jets should just put all their focus on D. Wilkerson/Richardson are flat out ridiculous and if they can get that team some decent secondary pieces and some good OLB pass rushers that defense will be right up there with Seattle.

Then focus on the ground game and do what Seattle does because Geno/QB Dog Killer are not going to win it through the air.

A 2 year time table for a new GM to completely turn things around? Seems unreasonable to me, but I haven't had that job before. The true impact of his personnel decisions are still probably a couple seasons away. Holmgren had his GM title yanked here and then shortly after we made it to the SB, but nearly all of the players that made up that team's nucleus were brought here by Holmgren. He built that team, and it took 6 years.

If he goes, who is available to DC? Move from within? Is Lebeau a fit for this team? Would he even be interested? Any other DC's out there looking for a job and have a good resume? Defensive oriented college coach looking for a move to the NFL?

Lebeau did say he was "resigning" and not retiring. I would say an old feller like that needs to take a year off before diving back in, but then again he doesn't have all that many years left to waste.

Carroll is young at heart, think he would rather bring on someone more youthful. Would a guy like Ken Norton be willing to stay on the staff if a youngster like Kris Richard is promoted above him?

Mulitple outlets reporting the Jets have hired Todd Bowles to be their head coach. Guess they didnt want to wait any longer on Quinn. Seems like the Falcons still loom as a potential destination for Quinn

Word is Jack Del Rio and the ex Falcons HC as a coordinator are heading to Raiders.

Quinn still in play for the Falcons job, but it may not be the destination he wants.

So does that give more validity to the rumors that Dick Labeau is looking at the Cardinals' DC job?

That would leave the Broncos or 49ers with the only real shot at Quinn, but 49ers want Gase.

There's still a chance that the Broncos promote Gase themselves.

Absolutely. Just saying that Quinn would most likely be left with really only one option at that point since Gase will rule one of the two out. Elway already said that Quinn is on his list.
