First question is who are you going to trade with to get a top 12 back from?
Second question is how much are you going to up that 3rd round pick by?
DJ with Dallas is easily a top 12 back ( probably higher ) and you may get a 2 from Zona but I doubt you get a 1 and you could probably trade Zeke for a 1 to someone else but you'd be throwing this year away imo if you don't get a good back in return . Can't see Dallas doing that

If Zeke is dumb enough to not report before week 1.
What I think will happen is there will be zero trading. he is under contract. (this isnt a Bell scenario)
The cowboys will use & abuse him the next couple years & then go into the bell scenario of tagging him. Where at that point they might trade him. This is the problem with playing tough with a team that actually owns your future. That team can become complete dicks to you. Since he has no leverage (outside of missing games) & since if he holds out into the season. He has already played that card. He still has 2 years under contract (before a tag ever gets used) & no cards to play. Only way the Cowboys trade him during those two years is if it is such a lopsided trade in the Cowboys favor they would be fools to ignore it. the trade thing for Zeke isnt even a consideration & neither side is even dumb enough to talk of such thing.

Think you might be mixing gordon with Zeke. Gordon has even less legs to stand on. The Chargers can get similar production out of their other RBs. There isnt a reason for the chargers to even listen to gordon.

The leverage will be when that offense struggles and they lose games they wouldn't have if they had Elliott. He will have his new deal by mid-October at the latest.

I see the usual crew has much to say on this topic.

Jerry & Stephen both said last week they offered Zeke, Coop & Dak top 5 money, so this is hardly new, just TMZ'ed to get the natives restless.

A team can offer 600M per but it still remains all about the guaranteed money.

we'll see but it's good to see all these non cowboy fans voicing their red hot options on headlines with no knowledge of the details.

As a Cowboy fan, I remain not worried but as always enjoy reading the opinions.

we'll see

I wonder if Jane Slater is related to a certain Hoop Poster?

I'll let you all figure out who I'm referring to.

I don't get the hardball with Zeke angle. Far as I know he isnt asking for the moon.

Really? Because a fake headline says the player wants $40M the team is stupid?
Because they are about to overpay an average QB, are dealing with a diva RB and are about to Seattle themselves out of contention because Jerry thinks he’s a genius.

Dak's just getting greedy now. I mean, $30+ mil a year is excellent money for a running back.

Also. The last time we didn't have Elliott. We didn't have a Receiver to stretch the field. Cooper changes the dynamics on how a team will defend the Cowboys. With or without Zeke.

He wants to be the highest paid RB.
Would you make him highest paid with his offseason history?

It's been an interesting twist to watch Cowboys fans defend Elliott and claim he didn't do anything and was cleared of any wrong doing and was still suspended anyway to now claiming that he is an off the field issue.

well prepare to be unhappy.
He will get more than Wentz. that is for sure. Rodgers is the next contract above that.
I can't believe Jerry would be that stupid.
