Does Elway care ?? ... Seems like this is a rite of passage for guys in the organization

It is disappointing, but I'm not sure it has a much of an impact

It doesn't change that I wouldn't mind the Broncos drafting him. It does change maybe when I would draft him. Making such a critical mistake so close to the draft is not exactly the intelligence you want shown by your players. Then again Elway has done incredible work taking some guys with some red flags especially right before the draft. I just would rather see him as a 3rd round pick guy instead of 2nd round.

Well now that we do have a 4th round pick with getting the Comp picks that we did I guess that is a real possibility. We shall see. Scouts right now are predicting a huge slide but we are still 2 months away from the draft and it is amazing how quickly some of those kind of things can be forgotten. My guess is it will still take at least a 3rd round pick to get him.

The more I think about it, the more I think Elway is going to draft a QB in RD 1 or 2

It no longer makes sense to me to have Sanchez and Kap on the roster, and then go and draft a QB high

And Trevor Siemian was not taken to be the QB of the future - sorry Ming, it ain't happening


Elway is going to take Prescott at 31, and here's why:

- I had no idea that Elway was interested in Josh Johnson just prior to getting Manning .. The plan, according to this 9 News article, was to have Johnson come in and back Tebow ... and last season, we go after Tyrod Taylor ..... .. and now that we know that Brock is touchy about being bench and/or replace, I think the Tyrod Taylor interest was a direct reflection on our belief in Osweiler ( .. of lack of )


Elway took a long look at the athletic Johnson to team with Tim Tebow after the 2011 season -- a scenario that may have come together had the Broncos not signed Peyton Manning instead.

- Dak Prescott is not you typical QB .. The guy is hard-nosed, plays football like a football player, gets beaten up by gangs of guys and bounces right back ... I think John Elway probably loves this, as Elway has put together a team whose success is built of toughness and playing hardnosed ..

- Elway will over do it for this guy and take him on day 1 because if someone steps in, and Dak was the guy, we're ******

I doubt he would take Dak in the 1st. 2nd maybe, but now I would say maybe he moves back from that 2nd round pick into the middle of the 3rd round and takes him.

I honestly have no clue what Elway is going to do for the QB position. I could see us trying to move up in the 1st and get Lynch. I could see us taking a guy like Connor Cook who of the 2nd tier QB's is probably the most QB ready. I can still see us taking Kaepernick or RGIII and going for a midround guy like Cardale Jones and training him up for a year or two.

There are still lots of options with the biggest issue being we just won't know what we have until the season starts and we actually see it on the field.

As far as Dak is concerned, I'd be looking to see if this is characteristic of him or is this a one time failure? From the little I know, it seems out of character. If that's the case, I wouldn't drop him much if at all.

You would think with what's been happening lately,especially with Manziel, that many that were high on Dak are going to have some serious reservations regardless if he hasn't had any past problems with alcohol or bad decision. Even though Elway took Ray and his weed deal before draft,it's not like Ray has been overwhelmingly promising. I think Dak hurt his stock in many GMs eyes ,Elway included. That said, I doubt he falls out of third with many qb desperate teams.
