I might try a ride out that way, but I won't make it West past Farmer Brown's

I haven't had them in a while. One of the few classic style Omaha steakhouses remaining.

We'll occasionally hit Jeris' for lunch when fishing at Wanahoo.
How's the fishing there? Been meaning to go but I just haven't had the boat out much recently. Wanahoo is an artificial lure only lake, correct?

Usually pretty good for a local lake.

No live 'baitfish'. You can use crawlers, waxworms, etc.
Pike are catch and release.
Largemouth Bass 21" or over to keep.
All other fish are by state rules.

Have you been to the Drover? I’ve heard great things aboot that place.

My company had a Christmas outing at Gorat’s and that place was pretty damn good.

I don’t know much about steakhouses in this town yet. Mainly because they’re too damn expensive.

I went to the Drover with my son for lunch a couple of months ago. The food was great. I recommend the place.
It was weird, how dark it is in there tho. It was high noon outside and midnight inside. I actually had difficulty seeing the menu, but I have vision issues sometimes. (The result of brain surgery many moons ago.)
I think I had the ribey. Good stuff.

Yeah I've been to Drover and Gorats.
Drover is not really 'traditional Omaha steakhouse'. I don't care for their whiskey marinade either. A good steak don't need anything on it.
Gorats would fall under 'traditional'. That is Warren Buffet's go to.
The real real real traditional Omaha steakhouses have mostly closed down.
Caniglias, Mr. C's., Venice Inn, Piccolo's, to name a few.
If your steak doesn't AUTOMATICALLY come with a side choice of spaghetti or mostaccioli, you are not in a traditional Omaha steakhouse. Simple rule of thumb.

Other than Gorat's.....
Anthony's and Casio's would be the only ' traditional' Omaha steakhouses remaining in town.
Farmer Brown's being in Waterloo.

Are all of our posts in this thread considered "dumbass"?

Asking for a friend.

I'd offer up a Council Bluffs establishment to add to this local list.
On the east side of town is a place called Pizza King. The name doesn't do the place justice. But it fits the mold of the traditional steakhouse.
Great steaks, spaghetti/mostaccioli sides and a casual atmosphere.
It can get crowded in there, but that just speaks to the quality of their food.
It's been around for as long as I can remember. The wife and I go there for their prime rib.

Funny you say that. Our company did their Christmas deal at Pizza King the year before. I was unable to attend but afterwards everyone was raving about that place.

What a weird name for a place with great steaks.
