cutting D Lawrence would've solved all their cap issues that year..they had alternatives. But, as per thier MO, they choose poorly

1) DAL FA holds out
2) Jerry pretends like he's going to play hardball
3) Jerry panics and backs up the Brinks truck for the FA

rinse, repeat

Pollard, Barkley, Sanders, Jacobs, some might even include Montgomery, Mattison, D Harris....this RB FA class is INSANE

Hunt also I believe.

Was part of my reasoning for the deal tbh. Hoping he can land in a good spot again with a solid role again but a bit of a gamble.

Watson was the real prize for me, he's grown on me a lot and I don't have him anywhere so I'm happy to grab him here. Probably was a slight overpay on my part overall, but what happens with Pollard and Hunt in FA will be huge.

was a good deal for both, imo
Bateman is all potential currently, even if I like his potential it still hasn't materialized yet

shot my shot to try to get Pollard from ya but not sure I could've gone much higher than where I started

I heard speculation that the Vikings may waive Dalvin Cook.

Too rich for an RB in a system that Kevin O’Connel treats as an afterthought.

Mattison a FA and cutting Cook...new backfield in Minny should be a highly coveted fantasy spot

Now that's mean. LOL If I thought he would be on the Vikings roster next season, I won't mind him as a depth piece ( for the right price which means cheap). However given his cap hit I suspect the Vikings part ways with him.
He will go to a team that appreciates him

Hopefully, he will. The Vikings certainly didn't.

A shame the way they ignored a guy who not only produced well for them throughout the years, was a fan favorite, and renegotiated his contract for the past two seasons to help them out with the cap.

I'm betting they ask him to do it again a 3rd time for the upcoming season. It's a meaningless gesture, because they know he won't.

It will be an excuse to trade or cut him.

I wish him the best.

Agree. As far as fantasy he doesn’t have much value but if he goes to the right team I still believe he can be a #2 option and RZ threat. His value is lower on the Vikings roster right now

Dude excelled in his role for years. He'll do the same for another team. Keep me in mind for a deal, I'm interested.

They traded Diggs and kept Theilen, that's about the only appreciation an NFL team shows to day 3/UDFA WRs. It's almost like they hold it against players for proving them wrong on draft day

Didn’t that same exact thing happen in a regular season game a couple weeks ago?

Didn't see that but without any data to back it up, it really did look like they gave Theilen's mid routes to Hock, so he might've been freelancing on more routes this year
