Tell that to the Saints ;)

As to Kyren, has his value increased since I acquired him?

I would say yes.

But the buzz in predraft and to a certain extent during the early season was that Corum would gradually ramp up and eat into Kyren’s work load.

My deal with Chef was not without risk.

Very real possibility that Corum could have made a time share or even taken the lead role by season end.

Didn’t happen, but let’s not act like that possibility didn’t factor in to the price I paid to get him.

My mother in law also spends lots of time worrying about the worst possible scenario/outcome imaginable

Lucky... my mother in law isn't that way, my wife's mother in law is though. I've had to deal with that shit for 50 years, she's only had it for ten

I traded my 1st, my second and Jerome Ford

But you are comparing apples and oranges. The problem isn’t the trade. It is that allowing people to trade after they have lost opens up unfair opportunities.

I'll gladly eat crow if anything suspicious happens. Nothing like that has ever happened in our decade though. On the slim margins where a semis loser has an aging vet they do not want the next year, and a semis winner wants him, I don't see the big deal. It can just as easily backfire for the buyer.

In D1, with a deadline...there were two trades (by the same two teams). Both backfired for the buyer.

In Old School...there was one deadline deal. Hopkins netted 13 points in three games.

I think you guys are exaggerating the demand/action during a deadline. Owners on the playoff bubble are very reluctant to buy.

I also think early season trades go under the radar only because they are early season trades. Maybe I'm kicking rocks because I drafted then snubbed Kyren and it blew up in my face, but I think that deal had a bigger effect than the Baker one (this year and next). I think Ford and the 32nd pick are almost irrelevant in 2025. You saw an opening and took advantage. Hats off to you, I say.

On the flip side of the deal... I don't want to see you in the championship going with Browning because Burrow went down in week 16.

A 24 year old RB whose lowest weekly score before the deal was 14.4? (Only three single digit weeks in two years)

C'mon man. If the league knew Kyren was being dealt, your offer would have been beaten (because your picks are always as late as it gets)... again, hats off to you.

Edit: I realize it was Chef's offer to you...but the point remains.

LOL.

I won the championship with Browning last year.

That is why I roster him once the byes are done.

True. But he was playing since mid November. Different story if it was one week cold off the bench.

even if we want to ignore this trade... and say this was a good one,..

it definitely opened my eyes for the potential BAD trade in the playoffs... if not the finals...

Bad trades happen no matter what... at all times throughout the season... we all do it...

but what if a bad trade is the biggest reason for a team to win it all...

Not to keep harping about Kyren (and I'm not dogging you, @Chef99 )... but handing the defending champion a desperately needed second RB1 in October is no different than doing it in week 16.

I think Marvin Harrison becomes the better player in the long run.

Ultimately, that's who I ended up with, albeit adding an extra late #1.

Just one more thing about Kyren...pretty sure I offered him to some other teams, only to be rejected not only because of the Corum thing, but also because of injury concerns.

Of course, he was pretty much healthy this entire season.

Go figure. ;)

We're all fantasy geniuses dont forget.
  • Vikings werent gonna do anything this year.
  • Dallas was the top fantasy DST drafted.
  • No way a converted rookie WR-turned-RB leads the Giants in rushing.

Yeah, I think people are forgetting the how big the Corum narrative was.

I had Kyren on quite a few of my teams. Never drafted him before mid 2nd round. People were scared.
