Even with Shane Ray -and Shaq Barrett - this defense is down a notch without Demarcus Ware. I'll take a healthy Ware over a healthy Peyton Manning at this point.
Yes, unlike some guys who want to get paid and not want to do any of the work. To fix those guys most of the money should be earned in incentives. As long as Ware is playing at a high Level he will be back at the money he is being paid . He earns his money and then some .
We need to keep Sanders at all costs next year so if that means cutting Ware and freeing up $10million we have to do it. Shaq and Ray have shown they can replace his production for 1/10th the price so we don't necessarily need Ware.
Plus don't forget we have to sign to Von and Brock this off-season so we need that money we're paying Ware even more.
Sanders is still under contract for next season; he's got one year left on his current deal.

The Broncos should definitely take their time with Ware, we need him for the Pittsburgh and Cincinnati games, and for the playoffs.
As for next year, no way he'll be back unless it's on a serious pay cut. He'll be 34 and with his back issues an $11.66 million cap hit is way too much. It will only cost the Broncos $1.66 million against the cap to cut him, and they'll need that money to re-sign Von Miller.
I know but I'd rather be able to sign him to an extension next season with the money we saved by cutting Ware than wait until the off season and have him potentially test the market because we were too strapped for cash during the season.
I know he's gonna demand more than what Ware is getting but that extra 10 million can only help us.

Um not if he can't stay healthy. There's only so much money to go around.Um yes we need him .
