Our defense needs HUGE help at this point. While FA presented stop gaps at S, LB, CB, ILB & DL, FA didn't really address any of these areas long term.

Maybe. Clark could be over the hill and porter is no better than Wilson was. In fact, he might be worse. Hatcher should help.

Porter is better than Wilson. Cmon. Yes Clark is old but his knowledge of the game will help. hatcher should give us more pressure on the QB.

You need to do some research on Porter. He was one of the worst ranked CBs in the league over the last few years. He was ranked 97 out of 100 last year. Here is the scouting report on him:

Tracy Porter’s (5’11”, 188 lbs, six seasons) career has been on a downhill slide since coming up huge for the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV. In 16 starts this past season for the Oakland Raiders, Porter was abused on the outside and continually taken advantage of. He lacks the size and speed to be a consistent defender outside the hash marks. He is much more effective working in the slot. Porter signed a two-year contract with the Washington Redskins this offseason and should step in as the nickel cornerback for the Redskins next season.

Wilson was ranked 87th. Not very good either, but my point is still valid. Porter is not an upgrade.

Maybe, but I doubt because of Porter. In fact, I won't be surprised if one of our young guys don't end up beating him out by season's end. He's just not that good. Once again, its was just rearranging deck chairs.

If our defense is better, it will have as much to do with our improved offense and STs as it does our Defense playing better. We still have huge question marks at S and ILB.
