La Stella can be released at any time. The non-tender deadline is irrelevant to him since he already has a contract.
La Stella? Who mentioned La Stella?

Assume much?

I assume that is your right.

Personally, I never assume.

The non-tender market is something to watch for the Giants as they have been pretty aggressive on that front in recent years. Kevin Gausman, John Brebbia, Matthew Boyd, Curt Casali, and Matt Wisler are just a few recent examples.

Seems like that is one area that they have been pretty successful. Gausman and Brebbia were great finds. Casali was pretty good as well. Wisler even looked good initially.

I think Junis was in this class as well. He was a good contributor, even if he is still at the bottom of the roster and at risk of getting non-tendered again this year.

I understand the non tender for Walton. He looked awful (and that trade should have never happened). Llovera was decent, though, in his time with the Giants. Much better than Marte, who somehow survives multiple roster causality moves. And Young is a bit of a head scratcher (well, in a normal FO universe, anyway). He was claimed toward the end of the season and pitched decently in his time with the big league club. What more could he have done to warrant a contract? A pristine ERA? A few less walks? And again, I point out that Yunior Marte, who has not looked anywhere close to good, is still on the roster. At this rate, he'll be the Giants' closer by May.

With yesterday’s transactions, the Giants 40-man roster stands at 37. As we have seen in the past, they do not keep 40-man roster spots open for long.

They'll probably use one spot to draft a pitcher in the Rul3 5 draft, with the hopes that he soon requires TJ surgery. That way, they can open a spot on the 40 man roster by moving him to the 60 day IL, paying him for a full year of big league service, only to return him to his original organization the next offseason. Meanwhile, they will acquire a middle infielder to fill that open roster spot toward the end of spring training. They will soon pass him through waivers because they claimed another pitcher that requires TJ surgery. Its the Giants' way.

Did they end up walking?

Thanks
I know that Jones walked and I believe Dean walked as well.

BA lists Jones as a minor league free agent. BBRef does not list an organization for Dean on his page. That is typical for a player without an organization.

Yeah, more churn. I wonder if he'll still be on the 40 man roster by New Year's Day.

Wonder why he was even claimed if there was no intention to retain him.

Stop trying to apply logic to this FO. FZ is the craziest MFer to ever be employed in the MLB.
