I didn’t realize (more likely I just forgot) that players on the COVID IL do not count towards the 40 man roster.

Since the Giants currently have 2 players on the COVID IL, they hav 2 avail spots. The used one of these spots to get Kevin Padlo from the M’s. He was sent to Sacto.

I would go with 60 day (remember the guy they drafted from the Mets who was stuck on the 60 day all last year, only to be returned to the Mets in the offseason) but dfa is also a possibility. Both moves are up FZ's alley.

I thought he was worth a call up last year but his numbers stink this year. Weird call up (versus Tom or Johnson) but, again, FZ and versatile infielders.

And, with Krizan, they can move him off the 40 man without penalty since he is a COVID replacement. However, I still wonder why him versus Tom. Both are lefties, the need is in the outfield, and Tom is performing a whole lot better with the bat in AAA.
