Two? I only know of the spot vacated by Alberto and was surprised that there wasn't a corresponding announcement of another pick up at that time.

However, Zaidi did clear out a bunch of guys early in the offseason and then, slowly, filled those spots with other players, over the course of a month. Maybe he's just anticipating one of Solarte/Rivera/Parra/Maybin/Vogt being picked up and wanted to make the move now.

Sorry, I thought I corrected that. I had forgotten that Barrett was already DFA’d.

Merandy Gonzalez. 23 yo righty from the Marlins. Don’t know his options status just yet...

He should have two options.
He may actually have 3 options left, even though 2018 was his first option year. I say may because his first four seasons do not count at full seasons since they were all in short season leagues. According to COTS, a player can have a 4th option if his first 3 options are used within 5 full seasons. What COTS doesn't say is if partial seasons are pro-rated or not counted at all for the purpose of the 4th option. If they don't count, the Giants could have 2019, 2020 and 2021 to move him around.
Considering his age, his minor league numbers prior to 2018 and his potential options for 3 more years, I'm a bit surprised the Marlins even jettisoned him. I assume he'll start this year in Richmond (he won't even turn 24 until after the season is over).

Per RosterResource, he has 2 options. I don’t know how accurate they are (I think they adjust their data without notice on occasion, though — they now show Stratton as having no options).

According to MLB Trade Rumors, Steven Okert is out of options as well. The Giants did use options in 2016, 2017 and 2018 on him.

For non-roster invitees, you are missing Derek Law, Stephen Vogt and Geraldo Parra. Also Jaime Callahan has yet to throw a pitch. I don't know if he's injured or re-assigned to minor league camp.

Was Callahan officially cut?
I keep forgetting about him, but I'm not counting him. He's yet to appear in a big league spring game, and, at this point, most likely won't at all this spring. But I guess, technically, there are 13 NRIs, two being pitchers (but there also no transactions I can find that say he was ever officially invited to big league camp. However, the team website has him listed among NRIs - which they never update after the list is created).

I don't get Gerber's demotion. The guy was hitting well. He's the 2nd outfielder to get sent down who was actually performing. This ridiculous love for Maybin is completely stupid.
I think it was to open up a spot for an acquisition. Gerber will be back.
