Question why the hate on DiMaggio? Am I missing something like usual. I feel his career batting average of .325 (I think) and other stats makes him a great player but not sure why others aren't a fan.

Not hate. I just feel you're overvalueing him is all.

He was a great player. On great teams. Don't want to seem as if I think JoeD isn't an all time great.

He hit 40 homers just once and wasn't a threat to steal bases, so there are a handful of guys that also played center who I value over him.

What impresses me most about the Yankee Clipper is he struck out 369 times. While hitting 361 homers. That's greatness.

No hate for Joe D here, love the guy, he was a great player and a stand up human being. I think he was really hurt by losing a few years to his military service they were his prime years, one can also argue he might be the most loved Yankee of all time.

shouldn't be, his exact prime years were in the military, easy 450 hr guy, maybe only guy to play in AS games every season he played. 9 rings in 13 yrs.

It's absurd.

And I'm a guy that values a low K rate. I definitely appreciate what kind of hitter Joe was. (Plus, Kramer says he was a dunker.)

Jeffro nice pick with Manny. Last year or 2yrs ago I got his and bucks autograph during spring training. I yelled Machado at least 100x's before I realized it wasn't Machado. Luckily the real Machado was near by and came around and signed autographs.

I always fear Ritz. He thinks about what people are thinking. And I think that's a good way to think in these, I think.

And I think he got him just about right where he should have went.

Griffey's D was so impressive, plus the power and the ability to swipe a base. I can't put him behind Joe.

JD missed those prime years to the War, but he also didn't see his rate stats take a hit by playing till he was 40 like the Kid.

But we're kinda splitting hairs. They're both great. And I thought Johnny reached for Grif, fwitw
