I don't think anyone has given up on Schwarber. I think they're desperate for pitching.

Schwarber is a DH. The sooner people accept this, the irrational expectations of his value can get under control.

*says this with Jorge Soler as my team's primary DH*

Norris for Schwarber intrigues me mildly. Fulmer? Yeah no.

But a 132 wRC+
Yeah but he started out hot, and in the last 30 games or so (which was half of his year), he hit .177 with an 85 wRC+. Not many people noticed because he was a monster in the playoffs and the Cubs did fine in that stretch anyway.

Detroit may trade off a lot of their team including Verlander but Fulmer's as untouchable as it should get for the Tigers.

Oh I agree. Just pointing out that 2015 season did have some teeth in it while he was around numerically speaking. Since then it has quite obviously dropped off.

didn't think it was that bad either

given that he was the cat's ass in 2015, got hurt and missed all of 2016 but came back and helped them to a WS, now he is scuffling for 1/2 season and they want to ship him off - so much for giving him a chance
