SFNL

Philthy, huh... That explains a lot.

While I'm sure this apparent 'revelation' would please many people, I kind of doubt the franchise that employs him would put out pure BS about their captain's current health situation. It's not just the Internet, either. They reported this in their daily press releases, as well.
I hope you're not insinuating that it would please me or that I'd trust eskin over the pens. The 'lol' was directed at eskin, whom I called a joke earlier in the thread.
Symptoms could have been masked by the pain and meds associated with the broken jaw and subsequent surgery.
It's all good, Awaz. I would hope you wouldn't personally feel that way. Those comments were not directed at you.
With that said, it would be awfully naive of me to think there aren't many fine human beings out there that would want nothing less than Sid to never take the ice in another NHL game for the rest if his life. That is what I was addressing.
Eskin is a great example of said human being. I've been lucky enough to hear his shtick on radio before. Impartial he is not.

To me those aren't real hockey fans.Irregardless of who you root for,you should always want to see the best players playing.
just making sure
i've actually never heard the dude on the radio, i just know from prior experiences that his hockey knowledge isn't the greatest..

Funny enough, those things would cause more symptoms than mask it. I think their focus is more on the symptoms Crosby dealt with last time (I think it was dizziness?), but you're right. Pain meds only really mask the pain though, not the other assortment of fun symptoms.
I didn't get back to reading this for a couple of days but I must add that nobody and I mean Nobody! makes a better meatloaf than I do period !!!
Hell, my sister e-mailed me a couple of days ago for my world famous recipe.

Randy Carlyle on Sid's jaw: "Is that the hockey gods trying to send a message?"
I'm still confused about what magical rule the Pens broke...assembling talent? Taking advantage of the cap space made because of a fair trade(s)?
Pretty sure with the recent focus on concussions in the NHL that if a team was falsely reporting a clean slate of health for a player in hopes of hiding concussion symptoms, that team would be making an egregious mistake. And I highly doubt the Pens would be willing to risk Crosby coming back before he's ready.
Only if they bring him back. Keeping other teams guessing by not accurately reporting what is wrong is not only not an egregious mistake its good business.
Come to think of it using egregious on a hockey message board may be an egregious mistake...oh well
Lupul not travelling with the Leafs today (he may have a concussion)
Those hockey gods work in mysterious ways, eh Randy?
Randy pissed me off again with his "We're not calling it a concussion, that's a bad word" thing too. Welcome to 2013, where we accurately diagnose these things. Sorry you can't say "bell rung" and have the guy back in a day anymore. I heard Lupul could barely find the door to the bench after the hit? Yeah, but let's not use that bad word... (Just say you're unsure, don't sound like a silly goose by saying 'we're just not gonna use that word')
“No that’s a bad word,” Carlyle said. “We don’t use that word until we’re 100 per cent sure on any of those situations medically. The term concussion, in today’s sporting world, you want to make sure you’re 100 per cent sure before you start using that one.”
Asked why that was, Carlyle pointed a finger squarely at how head injuries are covered by the media.
“Because you guys report that it’s this and it’s that and we don’t know what it is,” Carlyle said. “Until you know exactly what it is, I don’t think you should make any statements. Everybody saw the hit. He got squeezed out and he got dazed and didn’t feel very good.
“So we just said we’re going to send him for examination this morning. He got an evaluation done last night. They’ve just said he’s day to day. That’s what they’ve told me.”
Not surprised to see an old-school guy like Carlyle say something like that. Did you see the rest of his quote, though?
