Seems like a HUGE contract. I might be 100% wrong because I know very little about him but Fletcher Cox is salivating if Crawford is getting 45 million.

I thought the initial numbers look a little high. We are paying for what we want him to become, not what he is. I like Crawford and think he has a good year and career, but you should notice a difference when a $9M a year player is rotated out and I'm not sure we did enough. Regardless, I want him here and won't complain until I see the details. We are a much better team with him than without him that is for sure.

It's a lot of money, but I think a couple of years from now, it will look like a bargain

character counts.
Ratliff was old jerry the gm
Crawford represents what Jason Garrett is building in Dallas and thankfully jerry wants another championship and is playing along

like the old days jerry...put your finger in the head coaches belt loop and reap the rewards

Ratliff situation meaning signing him to a good deal early before he blew up. I think Crawford will be an anchor for this team going forward...

I don't think it's too much, it's over 5M less than the DT franchise tag. He's tied with the 7th highest paid DT, and when a few of those who are lower sign their first non rookie deal he's going to be much lower on the list.

Yeah, that's a good point. Plus we lock him up for all of his productive years and without a 3 tech this defense could be in trouble. What I always liked about Crawford was his ability to play any position on this DL. I still think LDE is his best spot.

could prove to be smart signing. If he turns in to what they think then it becomes a bargain. Got to like that the team is not signing the older FA and then not having the cap space to sign a younger, developing player.

I also like the potential of the "other" Crawford at the 3 tech. Could be quite the rotation. The players currently on the defense appear to be the type needed to inflict pain on the QBS
