why does cbs and fox show mostly meaningless games on sunday ? thursday and monday too !!

They don't schedule the teams that play on Monday and Thursdays.....The league does that so hence they cover them

the games u see are unfortunatly based on tv contracts. in pgh i get some crapy games too, even when say Bmore or Cincy are have good matchups.....

They play the local games in your area first of all, and the other game is the closest to an elite matchup. That was Steelers@Ravens today unfortunately on CBS and TB@Carolina probably did not start out that way over say Detroit@Minnesota, but with the way that turned out the stations probably would have switched to it. As for MNF and TNF those are pre-planned. TNF games are never gonna be good enough unless they start to put NBC-worthy games there.

Yep. Here in Western NY, we got Pit/Bal and Chi/Buf (home team) at 1 and NO/LAR at 4:25.

I never said Pit@Bal was the game of the week. I said it was the biggest 1pm game. In timeslots where there is no local team that usually plays unless playing on the network (for instance Carolina is not on CBS in SC unless playing Baltimore or Cincinnati because they are a NFC team). In other cases it's usually a division rival competing or the best available game.
