Yeah but he certainly could find a promising up and coming coach who would love the job, I mean someone better than Jason Garrett.

Yeah, you have a good point, but I think Jerry's idea of that was Jason Garrett and we saw how it turned out. In other words, he thinks he can identify the up and comers from within his own organization, and he hasn't been good at it.

It will be interesting to see how Red J does as offensive coordinator in New York now that he is out from under Jerry's shadow.

That was never the issue with @Guns N Guitars, everyone knows the issue.

As for the thread I think it's clear that the Boys have he talent to at least get there. But I will never understand why Jerry can't hire a good coach to lead them.
Jerry did hire a good coach. McCarthy has been a very successful head coach.

I'm ignoring him for awhile like I said, but he doesn't even understand whats going on. I'm not telling GNG who he can be a fan of, I'm stating what we all know that he is a great defender of GB.
No, you all don't know that because it isn't true.

I've defended Rodgers but I never defended the Packers.
Then I must have misread so of your posts. I don't think I did and with the lack of a decent search capability here I'm not going to challenge it,other tgan say I know what I've read.

I'm sorry you have that opinion. I also have praised Romo but have been critical of Dak.

Lets get real here, 65% of the Hoopster's on here weren't even born when Dallas was a dynasty....

They have to youtube to see how Uncle Jerry unraveled that run.
There is one defending champ. Everything else is in the past including 2017. I never understood this line of thinking. When the Cowboys were in the middle of their "run", but did not win a SB in a given year, I took no solace in the fact that they had won one two or three years prior. That line of thinking was usually reserved for people with posters on their walls and team/players names in their profile names...

I'm pretty happy with McCarthy/Nolan/Tomsula etc. You don't think he qualifies as a "good coach"

I don't see the Cowboys winning the SB this year, but I definitely am going to put a few bucks on them getting more than 9.5 wins where Las Vegas has them.
I think I need to see how the defense comes together before I make that bet myself. My guess right now is 10, but it's just too early to say for sure what happens when their QB isn't signed and they lose 3 of their best players even with what looks like a promising offseason of moves. I also want to see when the team (and especially their QB) gets into camp to learn the new offense and defense that comes with new coaches. The talent is there to go way above 9.5 wins of course, but there is as they say, some work to be done. If they somehow trade for Adams...then I'd say it's a darn good bet to assume the over

No good coaches want to work for Jerry Jones. He has shown himself to be an overbearing boss who can't let the football people do their jobs without getting involved. The only real coaches with spines he has had were Parcells and Johnson, and not coincidentally, those were the most successful eras for the Cowboys under Jones.
A narrative regurgitated by idiots.

So he can get good coaches but instead chooses mediocrities over and over? Is that your position on the past quarter century of Cowboys coaching?

No. My position on the topic is nothing other than that the idea that the Cowboys can't get good coaches because good coaches won't want to go there is absolutely moronic.

So defending Romo says you don't defend GB?
I don't think you're reading what I'm typing. I'm not saying you aren't a Cowboys fan, I'm saying you defend GB a lot, and at one point defended GB more thsn you would the Cowboys.

Interesting thing is, now that the Cowboys look to be contenders, you're all in.

I've always supported the Cowboys even when they were struggling but was very critical of the decisions they made. To my recollection I have never defended the Packers other than defending Rodgers when certain posters attacked him.

I'm also very happy with McCarthy. Anyone that doesn't think he's a good coach either doesn't understand football or is trolling.
