Holy crap would I love it if they bring him in. Not for a 3rd and we gave our 4th away for Mingo :mad2:
Maybe 2 5th's? They aren't getting a 3rd but he would be worth one IMO

: The Cowboys are a team to watch in the trade market for Patriots’ QB Joe Milton III, per
@jfowlerespn
“The Patriots are exploring a trade. I’m told several teams are interested. One team to potentially watch for is the Dallas Cowboys because they are looking for a good backup, a young backup with upside they may not get in the draft, maybe they get in a trade.”The Patriots are reportedly seeking a third-round pick for Milton.

He has an Elway type arm. He is worth a flier

we need a back up QB to compete with the back up on the roster for the backup job. As with most all teams, we lose our QB for an extended time we're done. I think this team thinks maybe a 5th but a 6th would be preferred.

Yeah, thats fair. I would offer a 5th this year and a conditional 5th that could go as high as a 3rd next year.
I prefer them to get somebody with a little potential. Milton could be an interesting addition. He would likely get playing time

Yeah if you looked up potential in the dictionary, Miltons picture would pop up. Physically, he has all of it

There was a play he made in week 18 where he escaped the rush and threw a laser into the end zone. It was called back, but was an amazing play nonetheless. It reminded me of the kind of plays Romo made when protection broke down. I think he could have success if he played in a power rush scheme... Play action and RPO

Has the 2nd fastest clocked velocity in a game. Plus he is 6'5", 245 and fast

What if it was a future 4th like Mingo the studs was.

Never too soon to point to last 4th FU by JJ. Too early to say he won't do it again.

Yawn. What a boring free agency and generally downgrades at every position except special teams. Fowler was great last year but that was with Quinn. Quinn did not resign him and he is D-Law’s replacement which is a downgrade. The two backs we got averaged 3.7 yards per carry and were a downgrade versus our prior back. No second string wide receiver and signing a receiver with 4 of his six years in the league playing 7 games or less. We resigned a couple of players in contract years and lost our 2nd best corner. Lost a solid backup tackle and got a backup guard. Lost an experienced backup QB. These boys better hit the lottery in the draft and pray Dak regains All Pro form or this is looking like a 5 win team at best. The lines are weak.

Here's my thing and I don't disagree with you. What is the plan? They definitely made the team deeper which was needed so I'm happy with that, but they didn't make the team closer to a SB. They brought in guys who will mostly be gone in a couple years I'd imagine but hopefully a couple stick and help this team. Is this just stop gap (which doesn't make sense because they just gave a shit ton to the QB so why would you throw away a couple of years and do that), is it utter incompetence (this is the most likely as always in Dallas) or are they not done. Let's say they bring in one high-end player. You decide the position. Whether it be Keenan Allen (I want no part of Cooper after watching him last year unless he is cheap, he's about done) or they trade for a starter like they did with Gilmore or Cooks (or at least what we thought Cooks would be) or an impact defender or OL. After teh draft players on high contracts may become available and they cleared cap space for something...at least i hope they did.

So now you add a top end starter at a position of weakness like every other team does almost every single year AND you shored up a lot of weak spots and helped out your depth. If they do that and hit on their draft picks then they are moving in the right direction. That is what I have been calling for since day one of free agency. It isn't that any of the moves they have made have been bad, it's just that the moves they haven't made are the ones that have left them no closer to a SB than they have been for 3 decades. Unlike some fans may be I'm not interested in 10 or 11 wins and getting embarrassed in teh playoffs every year. Build towards a SB or at least make the NFC Championship game. Everything else is a failure and is there any clearer proof of failure and that the Jones Boyz don't know WTF they are doing than this:

It like why sign Dak if they not going to really upgrade the roster?

I’m still pissed at the lack of action on Kupp.

I guess Jerry thinks window shopping is good enough. Browse and get it done. Cheap bastard.
Kupp would have really moved the needle for the offense IMO
I know it's a good deal of money, but there is a long ass ways from Cooper Kupp to Jaylon Tolbert as a #2 as well

Take heart, the last mock draft I saw at ESPN had Dallas getting Warren at 12.
