UFA's: Osa, Lewis, Zack, Lawrence, Rush
RFA: Really only matters with Turpin. What tender should Dallas apply here.

can you keep um all?
do you think all should be kept?

Jerry may play a little in free agency.. He sounded reactionary at todays head coach conference. Jerry could make some cap space this year. I don't see 90M, but jerry sounded like he is very much aware of what's being said about him? if so...is reactionary Jerry bad this year?

forgot Golston.
Rico Dowdle, Brandin Cooks and Eric Kendricks are the other main guys. Over the Cap projects what kind of deals FA's will get per season:
Lewis $7M. Osa $11M. Chauncey $9M. Dowdle $8M. Turpin $6M.

I would prioritize
Osa
Lewis
Turpin
Dowdle
Maybe Golston

I think the rest are replaceable. I want Golston but they may think Kneeland, Sam Williams, Micah, draft pick

You would need to use a 1st rounder to replace Osa or Lewis production. Turpin is so much better than they allow him to be. Dowdle will come down to prove for them

What? $9M per year for Golston? That's insane. Plus I don't see any team giving Dowdle the same contract that Henry got last year

That's what they are projected to get, we will see. Golston played awfully well. I expect him to get to get Dorance Armstrong money. As to Rico, he might be the best back on the market

I was looking at a least of one guy's top 15 free agents. His number two rated guy intrigued me.
Right guard, Kansas City, Trey Smith. He'll be 26 at the start of next season.
no sacks allowed this year with an 85% win rate on running downs.

I believe Cooks is gone. Whether a draft pick or FA replaces him I dont know.
Also With Zimmer gone. I believe Kendricks is gone as well.

Possibly they sign Turpin and Lewis. The others on your list I doubt it . Turpin I think has the best chance at returning.

If I had to put a percentage on their chances of returning:

Turp. 50%
Osa 14%
Lewis 37.5%
zAck 0
Lawrence 0
rush hopefully zero,

Golston,Lewis and Turp make the most sense to bring back.. I see no reason to Pay Dowdle . They are going to draft a RB in round one or two. And if these fools don't draft a legit back in round one or two they are stupid. They should let someone else pay Dowdle.

Personally, I would resign Dowdle up to $5M per for a one or two year deal. He has low tread on his tires and I think he could have a really good season. Then take a back around round 3 to back him up. If no Dowdle, them it's a day one or two priority.
The Cowboys have the money to easily resign Osa, Dowdle, Lewis, Turpin and Golston. I don't give a shit how many times Stephen tells the media we are up against it, because he is full of shit. If they don't resign these guys it just confirms Stephen isn't serious about winning, just making money, and as bad as Jerry has been, it may go from bad to worse with Stephen calling the shots

Yeah, you need to try and bring back Dowdle, but if someone wants to overpay him, you let him go. I like him, but you can't give him a big contract. Wit hall players, It's all about the contract amount. If someone else wants to pay a guy more than he is worth, you wish him well with his new team and sign someone else instead. There is always another player out there

I agree with you completely. If someone wants to pay Dowdle $9M a year, let him go. I don't think that's going to be the case though. Barkley signed at 4 years/$7.7 per with a cap hit of $6M this year. The thing is for this team, sign a comparable player at a fair rate. But don't say you don't prioritize RB and go with Deuce, an undrafted Rookie and bringing back Zeke which is 50/50 here lol

@jarntt

I've read recently moving cap hit from current year to future years makes sense if the player is likely to see those years. 20M takes up a higher percentage of cap space in 2025 than it would in future years with higher caps.

with this said. An article says we could add 67M in space with no regrets. I read...

Dak 45M restructure to bonus spreading 9M per years 2025 to 2029
Cap savings of 36M (89.9M to 53.9M)

Cee Dee 25M restructure to bonus spreading 5M per years 2025 TO 2030 Cap savings 20M (26.8M to 6.8M)

Parsons is already on the 2025 books for his 5th year option at 21M. They seem to think they will make him the highest paid defensive player and still reduce his 2025 cap number 11M.

The article said players on decline (Steele) or injury (Diggs) aren't wise restructures.

What do you think?

I've seen work ups where we get to $100M plus by doing those things, plus cutting Steele and designating him June 1 plus one other similar move. The Dak part is going to happen for sure. His hit this year is $90M+. They designed it to move that money into a void year all along. None of the moves you listed hurts them long term. The cap has gone up $100M per year in the last 7 years and will do so again. Its why Philly's cap Hell never happens. They can literally sign everyone we are losing that they want and still add pieces. The catch is, besides the Micah signing bonus, to rework Lamb and other guys to clear that space, the club has to be willing to shell out the cash NOW. To convert someone's base salary to signing bonus, you pay their entire salary as a signing bonus, and that money is spread over the length of the deal instead of just this year. Jerry and Stephen have been hiding behind the cap, saying we barely have enough to operate, when reality is they could have been doing this all along, and they know it. They are just cheap

We are reading the same book.
BUT
I'm thinking Jerry could get reactionary from all this.
Watching the press conference I could see that vibe because he definitely has rabbit ears. Its obvious that Jerry and Stephen hear all the negative comments out there. But I really thought that after getting demolished by Green Bay in a home playoff game he would have tried to help the team last year, but then he his big FA signing was Zeke lol. He has to show me before I'll believe it

The need to do this and spend it on some of their own and some legit outside free agents.. maybe sign a good linebacker to play alongside Liafua. Look for upgrades for the defense. They need to stop being cheap or they going to get their asses kicked. Tougher schedule coming up
