I've become jaded in terms of draft day trades. Seems like there's always promises of craziness... and then it never happens.

We shall see.

Lakers are highly unlikely to give up Randle, it sounds like. I guess they're gonna stand pat and hope Okafor turns out to be as good as Cousins, which is entirely possible.

I want to keep Clarkson, the Kings better toss in the #6 pick.

They would have to be flat out retarded because then all they would have is a depleted roster that they have waited two years to fill. They now have a developing point guard and small forward with unknown potential. The last time I remember the Lakers drafting a point guard in the first round, I believe it was Magic Johnson who led the Lakers to a championship in his rookie year when injury happened to Kareem. Cousins by himself would not be enough and stupid right now, but if the Lakers were to sign Aldridge, and get their players stock up, and then trade - after they have spent their money under the cap - that would make some very small sense. But today it would be the worst move ever

Not happening. The Kings would sooner see George Karl leave than Cousins

Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive considering firing coach George Karl
That makes me think the Sacramento front office has no idea what they are doing. I could've told them that Karl couldn't coach effectively with Cousins before they even signed Karl to coach. Cousins just isn't the type of talent that excels in George Karl's offense. If he is a team cancer, it just makes it worse.

He says he wants to keep Cousins while also fielding offers from other non LA teams for Cousins. Ranadive has no clue what he's doing. That team is a hilarious dumpster fire. I'm hoping they keep both Cousins and Karl and then overpay Rondo. The clusterfuck will be glorious.

That would be a complete trainwreck. Rondo, Cousins and Karl lol

It's only a good move if Cousins is coming to play WITH the current lineup. Not in replace of someone in the lineup. LOL

Cousins is most likely headed to Denver if Karl has anything to say about it.

Yeah, I'm glad they did. I like Cousins, but he wasn't worth the asking price. It's going to be interesting to see what comes of this as I think the Kings may have overplayed their hand. Imo, the longer this drags out, the lower the price for Cousins will get.

It reminds me a bit of when Shaq left the Lakers. Everyone knew that Shaq wanted out and he had pissed off Dr. Buss to the point that he wanted him gone. End result, the Lakers ended up with a trade in which Lamar Odom was the only player who contributed anything.

Good analogy to the shaq situation, but Caron butler was also included in the deal, who at the time seemed like a great prospect. He shined after his stint with the lakers as well.

Yeah, got to wonder where Cousins goes now, won't be a King next yr. IMO.
