He played 6th man with the suns

Didn't he demand a trade, regardless with his production I doubt he wants to sit on the bench even if it is sixth man. I would think they would include Thomas in the trade.

No way Thomas is going to want to take another back-seat after being an all-star last year. Dude has earned a starting job. There would be plenty of teams he would be an immediate upgrade to their starting PG situation.

His reluctance to sign an extension with anyone is likely why he won't be traded...But if he is moved - Brown, Smart, Crowder, and picks would be a good package.

Ultimately I think OKC rides this out with him. Worst case scenario is that he leaves as a FA and they're in play for the top pick in the 2018 draft.

The fact that they can't S&T guys anymore (really) is another reason why the 2011 lockout was stupid. It only hurts teams like OKC.

The NBA thinks they're better off getting nothing than with say Loone and Barnes in the fold.

I don't think OKC is that kind of team. I think if the GM thinks he is leaving next year then he is 100% getting dealt.

They may give up a ton for a 1 year rental.

I think everyone keeps forgetting that he WANTS to become a free agent, so anyone dumb enough to trade for him will, just like you said, give up a LOT for a one-year rental.

At the same time, that might bring his trade value down because teams know this.

OKC aren't going to accept just average players and 2nd round picks though.

Basically they're screwed!

Hes a starter but not a starter on championship contender though

There are probably only 6 championship contenders in the NBA right now. Doesn't mean that he can't be an all-star level PG for a good team.

That's why he's not going anywhere...I don't see why that's such a bad thing if he leaves and they go through a full scale rebuild. It's better than mediocrity...

CSNNE is reporting that this trade is close to being done. The word is that the Celtics will not do the trade unless Westbrook signs at least a two year extension. In other words, Ainge won't do it unless he has Westbrook in hand through the end of the 2019 season. Ainge isn't stupid. He's noit going to give up young players and potentially great picks for a one year "take a chance".

Don't be surprised to see Ainge got both Westbrook and Griffin. NESN was reporting last night that Ainge was also talking with Sacramento about Cousins. Lots of teams are interested in the C's picks for the next three years.

It would be great to have him on the Celtics but they would have to give up too much for him and I don't want them to kill there chances in the next few seasons by just signing him for one year.

Ill text him real quick, hold on

Well considering he already played with two point guards that dominated the ball not sure if he would want to go BACK in that role especially where he is in his career, in Phoenix he was younger and not the player he was today.

if this truly is the case then absolutely! I think Ainge really needs to make something like this happen. Right now he is in a little hot water with me.

I dont want him I want Butler. That is a good contract Celtics could trade Amir/Jerebko this year with picks to make the numbers work. You would have Butler until 2021. Then sign Hayward next year in Free Agency.

Starters: IT, Sweet AL, Jimmy B, Not so Flash Gordon, Jae Crowder
Bench: Yasulube the French Freak, Jaylen Brown, ABradley, 2017 Pick 1/ Harry Giles /Josh Jackson, Jordan Mickey, Terry Rozier, Kelly O, The Slavic Giant

Also gone: RJ Hunter, James Young, a lottery pick and maybe a few seconds
