IDK if the Steelers are weakened w/o Bell, but they are different...D Williams is a more than capable RB...still expecting a good game.

D Williams is one of the most underrated players in NFL history. He was really good in Carolina but it was Carolina and nobody seemed to notice. He steps in for Bell last year at 32, an age when RBs are usually past done, and was fantastic.

Agreed, but its a thin line between enjoying a win over a banged up or otherwise short opponent, and hoping for injuries, suspensions and the like.

I will never root for an injury to an opponent. But a suspension is totally different, no sympathy what so ever and I'm glad he will be out. Come December nobody will remember, or care, who was hurt or suspended when we played them. It's all about wins and losses.

How about a good team that is clicking on all cylinders? The mighty 18-0 Pats lost to a NYG WC team that year if you remember. A bounce here, a bad call there or just some bad luck mishaps any team can beat any team on any day on any field. The trick is to get in the playoffs by any means necessary and then see what happens. However, saying that, regardless of how you got there if you make the playoffs then you're a pretty good team and have a fair shot at beating anyone. Though listen, beating a Panthers team at full strength is obviously very rewarding but wins build confidence and confidence builds wins. Players after a win don't sit around and sulk because the win came against a team without it's star RB.... and therefore I shunt either.

Just win baby. Listen, It's always a home game for Pittsburgh at FedEx so they're always a tuff opponent. Just be happy he may not be available and let it go.

wins are great but if you beat the panthers without Cam i don t see how you get much confidence in that win

Not gonna argue this anymore,,, I guess since what you're saying is true than our strike shorten season when scrubs played mainly scrubs is a farce. Listen, back to professional football. Every player is a pro that is on a football roster. You play who you play and that's the bottom line, and yes, beating anybody at QB, RB or whatever position is lacking regardless builds confidence. They're are all pro athletes.

How is losing a game - at any time - the point?

The point (for me at least) is preferring to WIN when both teams are fielding their best players.

That has no relevance on wanting to win the game in front of you.

You play the team on your schedule, you don't control whether they are injured, suspended or otherwise.

And you play to win of course.
